  • Maximum Ride Capacity At DLR

I have been looking for a website that lists maximum riders per hour for the DLR rides and have not been able to find anything like that. I know some of them off the top of my head (POTC handles the most - 3400 per hour I believe), but am curious about all of the others.

Does anyone know of such a website or even a book that shows this info?

Pirates is closer to 3600, and can go as high as 3900. HM is around 1600.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

      http://www.scottware.com.au/theme/feature/

      POTC: 3400
      Splash: 1200
      Indy: 2400
      Jungle: 1800

That's according this site. Couldn't find the numbers for the rest. A stopwatch and a counter and a calculator could determine it for Space or any attraction.
      1. Identify a car/train.
      2. Start stopwatch when it first moves away from the loading area.
      3. Count number of trains until the identified train returns.
      4. Stop stopwatch when the train first moves away from the loading area.

For that specific time period, you know how long a cycle is. Suppose it's three minutes. That's [60 minutes per hour] / [3 minutes per cycle] = 20 cycles per hour. Suppose also you counted 13 trains. That's 260 trains per hour. 8 guests can fit into each train. That's about 2000 guests per hour. Plus or minus, say 300.

Hmmm. I have been trying to gather some of this from various places, and cannot find links for them. This is what I have found at some point:

        Autopia 2800
        Haunted Mansion 2600
        Indiana Jones 2400
        Jungle Cruise 1800
        Matterhorn 1750
        Pirates of the Caribbean 3400
        Space Mountain 2200
        Splash Mountain 1750
        Tiki Room 232

The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland has stats on many rides, especially fantasyland rides. Also, someone posted scans of the Haunted Mansion operating manual last year, and I think the counts were much higher ... somewhere aproaching pirates.

Yeah, I bought a copy of that book a few years ago, but gave it to a friend who now lives out of state. Now I want it back, LOL.

The web site states the following:
                1. 32 guests per boat.
                2. 8.5 minutes duration. (I'll add 3.5 minutes for loading and unloading.)
                3. 10 boats in operation.

                So:
                A. 60 minutes per hour / 12 minutes per ride = 5 rides per hour.
                B. 5 rides per hour X 32 guests per ride = 160 guests per hour per boat.
                C. 160 guests per hour per boat X 10 boats = 1600 guests per hour.
                Plus/minus some amount.

In the early 70's Cast Members would try and see how many guest they could cram on an attraction. One Cast Member loaded nine people in a doom buggy. On Pirates they would fill a boat with so many people it took on water.
