  • where can I leave my car for the weekend?

I'm meeting someone at Disneyland to start off a weekend roadtrip but we're coming in two separate cars at two separate times and leaving in just one so I'm trying to figure out the best place to park my car for a few days.

Ideally, I would be able to leave my car here Friday night, get to Disneyland from this place without using my car, and come back Sunday afternoon to find my car in one piece.

I've considered local hotels and also the Amtrak station (but I'd need to take a cab from there to DLR) but was wondering if anyone had any other good ideas.

    Thanks!

I think the John Wayne airport is pretty nearby. They'd probably have long term parking you can pay for.
Or I know some hotels have paid parking, like the Doubletree Guest Suites on Harbor.

If there are some hotels that allow it you might want to check that out. Although they may want you to stay at least one night. My brother does actually quite a bit when he flies out of LAX and it actually winds up being cheaper than leaving it at the LAX long term parking lots.

I don't know if there are hotels in Orange County that offer this service. You may want to check this out though.

        1. Long-term parking at John Wayne Airport.
        2. How much are you willing to spend?

Quite a few of the Hotels in the DL area require a parking pass to be displayed while parked on their property (of course, there's always the Castle Inn, they don't seem to care who parks there. You might have a few hitchhikers on board when you pick it up though...Cockroaches/bedbugs and the like).

I don't know if that is actually enforced, but I wouldn't want to find out the hard way...

Towing and storage bills can be expensive.

          Good luck!

Oh, of course I'd call in advance before just dumping my car there. At the local hotels I've looked at, it looks like prices are anywhere from $10 to $20 per day; however, they don't say whether that's for guests only. I guess I'm more wondering if any of you have experience doing this and have any cautions or favorite parking places.

The residential streets directly next to Disneyland might be a good bet, it's not a far walk to the parks (trust me I know).

Why not leave DL in both cars.Take it to John Wayne airport long term parking, then go on your trip from there.

Don't recommend side streets, most likely your car won't be there upon your return.....just sayin.

Re: where can I leave my car for the weekend?

To anyone searching for guidance on this in the future, I just wanted to follow up: I parked my car at the Hilton and it was still there when I got back 2 days later. I was charged $22. However, I think this is actually at odds with their posted parking rules (which I think said no overnight for non-hotel guests) so do it at your own risk. I made sure to call in advance and ask the attendant who was on duty when I parked so I'd have two different opinions if I was challenged.

If you don't like to worry about getting your car towed, I called the Sheraton and they said I could park as a non-guest for $15 a day, so that's another option.

Was that the "Sheraton Park" (the one near the Hilton) or the Sheraton Anaheim (the one behind Disneyland on Ball Road)?

The Sheraton Anaheim behind Disneyland permits non-guest overnight parking. You take a ticket and then where you're ready to leave, you pay the ticket at a vending machine by the lobby's front door and it validates the ticket to open the gate. No window or dashboard sticker or placard required.

I pay $10 a night, but I'm not sure if that was for everyone or perhaps a special rate just for hotel guests. You could always call them and ask if interested in the future.

come to my place, park your car in my space, I'll take you to Disneyland, drop you off and when you return just have then drop you off at my place again. 50 bucks is my fee.

I take offense to that, I live in Anaheim.

When I visited Disneyland not the last time, but the time before, we left our car in our hotel and someone smashed the window and stole a bunch of stuff out of the car. So even at hotels its not as safe as it seems.
