that time period was also wonderful....but if you think in "best rides installed" it would have to be the 60's

Had to vote for the 70's because I love Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Would have loved to have seen the park in the late 60's though!

The 70's because I worked there from 74-82! The park's best overall period would be late 70's perhaps through the mid- 80's because you had SM and BTMRR, the pre-1998 Tomorrowland and the pre-1983 Fantasyland.

People, there's a poll above for voting. How about some reasons or discussion in your posts?

I wondered if this poll was just going to reflect the voters' ages (ie when their 'golden years' as kids were) But then I see that Hilsbro voted for the swinging 60s.

I thought about all my favourite rides and when they were built, then realised that I can't vote for any particular period since my favourite Disney is the culmination of all those years. So I guess I'd have to say 90s, but not late 90s when it all started going 'wrong'. Let's say 1995 after Indy was built, but before the classics like the PM and Subs were closed.

DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

Really, it should be 85-95. Eisner still had ambition then.

                              No contest.

The best single decade for DL was 1959 to 1969, beginning with the Matterhorn/Monorail/Submarine extravaganza and ending with the Haunted Mansion. In between are almost all the classics, with Walt's fingerprints on all them--his daring, his drive, and his uncanny creative instincts. That decade witnessed a breathtaking crescendo of theme park creativity that has never been equalled anywhere within a comparable time period.
