  • Big Figs at Outlet Shop

We've had a temporary Disney Outlet shop here in Salt Lake City for about a month. Picked up a few good items the first time I was there but hit it again yesterday to see how the merchandise had changed and was very pleasantly surprised.

The higher end merchandise was fantastic. I got both the Tomorrowland and the Adventureland Big Figs for about $100 each (the Adventureland one is the best Big Fig I have seen with sound, lights and boats that sail around the river). They also had the Auctioneer and the Redhead. Other higher end items included the 50th dessert plates with the castle crowns, some Shag prints, a few Olkewitz (sp?) items, and some pin sets. Also some great DL books for less than $5. I don't know if the other outlets have these items, but I had a great time at the SLC one.

Just passing along this tip to other DL collectors.

If anyone needs to know, here is the link to their homepage:

We used to have a fig tree in our front yard, but every time we would go to pick the figs, we noticed that the birds got to them before we did.

Is the Salt Lake store temporary? I just saw it on their list the other day. I thought it was only on the list if it was permanent. Anyway, I plan on heading down there in a few weeks.

The web page shows it ending on 4/22. They were here in the late summer/fall so it seems that they come around about every 6 months. I have an e-mail that is good for another 10% off. If you are interested, let me know.

I meant to get that extra 10% off from you DL, but I totally forgot. I guess I was too excited to go to the outlet. My mom and I went and spent 2 and a half hours there!

                  Here's what I scored:

                  Clockwise:
                  • My favorite purchase - my new zip up hoodie. Regular Price was $48, I paid: $14!!
                  • Hang Loose Vintage Mickey Tee. Regular Price was $20, I paid: $5.50!
                  • Shag Disneyland Journal (there are different sections inside all with themed with different Shag "Lands"). Regular Price was $17, I paid: $9.99
                  • Disneyland: Remember the Moments Book. LOVE this book! I borrowed it from a friend and read it on my way to Disneyland on my last trip. She paid $25 bucks for it! I paid: $3.50!!!!
                  • Golden Mickey Ear Antenae Ball shaped Magnet. Not sure what the Regular Price was, but I paid: $0.99!
                  • Tinker Bell Suction Dangler (to hang on my rear view mirror). Regular Price was $4.00, I paid: $0.99!
                  • Pink Mickey Mouse Club Tee. Regular Price was $20, I paid: $5.00!

Everything has Disneyland Resort tags on them. If I had kids I could spend a fortune. There are SOOOO many cute things for kids there. I bought a couple of doubles for gifts, all together my total came to $52.00! What a DEAL!!!! I'm going back next week with my husband. They get new stuff every week.

That is slang for the large statues that have become so popular. It can be a singel character figure on a base with some decoration that fits the character, or a complete attraction building or like in the case of Fantasyland all four Dark Rides on one base. Some have light up effects as well. Each figure is about 2 feet tall. They are very cool. I have the new Peter Pan one and he has a light in his pirate hat that lights up Tink who is sitting on his shoulder. The attractions ones are very, very cool.
Peter Pan Forever!!! I Will Never Grow Up.

                      Thank You Poisonedapples

Oh, ya! ok thanks. I have wanted the one of the hat box ghost for a long time. Everytime I go to DL I tell myself I'll get it next time, But, alas, I have no statue yet.

the had some cool ones at the outlet last night. The tomorrow land one was AWESOME!!!!! They also had a HUGE red head and pirate from POTC. And a not-so-cute Stitch one. He's not my fave. I'm not a collector of these types of figures but they were all a good deal and fun to look at.
