  • Is the Grand Canyon a little too dated?

I like the Grand Canyon.... I do.... I really do....

But it's like looking at a Department Store Window that never changes....

With the technology that created TURTLE TALK WITH CRUSH, can you imagine multiple screens with multiple characters.

They could even use the room created by losing the two rooms and create a new ride behind the screens!

I mean, this is a perfect spot for 1 or even two dark rides!

So wierd, I was just thinking of that today, along with Primeval World, theyre both pretty dated.

No way, it's only reason why I go on the Disneyland Railroad. It's kinda cheesy in a very good way, and I love the music that accompanies it.

Yes, the Grand Canyon is millions of years old. It is very dated. Carbon dated, that is!

 I don't know why in the world I just said that.

What I would like to see:

                1) Replace the Grand Canyon Diorama with a scene of Plains Indians looking up to the Stars. Using fiber optics and the most advanced AA this scene can really be brought to life.

                2) Replace the Primeval World with a full scale recreation of the Apollo 11 moon landing. If done right there won't be a dry eye on the train when it pulls into Main St. Station.

In the eyes of non-Disneyland nerds that would make complete sense.

I think it could use some update...Nothing "new" but just update the older models because I too LOVE the place...It just looks like it hasn't been touched in many moons.

How is the Grand Canyon "dated?" It represents the Grand Canyon "as we know it TODAY." Saying a thing is dated means it's not true with modern times and the Grand Canyon IS true with modern times. It's still there isn't it?

Well, I don't think the Grand Canyon looks like that anymore...Looks like it was from the 50's

Trust me...the Grand Canyon hasn't changed appearance in the last 500 years...let alone the last 50.

It's a fine example of a static "diorama." Similar to what appears in many museums today (although Disneyland's is larger than most). It fits in perfectly with the railroad excursion, IMHO.

The Grand Canyon looks JUST like that mural!

hmmmmm the colors just remind me of 50's coloring type style.
