  • DL Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. Who is going?

For anyone who is participating in the Magical Memories Experience, the Registration just opened this morning for signing up for 50 spaces available for the Unvailing of Disneyland's Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

It looks like space is still available. Is anyone planning on attending?

Shame on Hollywood!!! They are such obvious whores for giving "places" Stars. Do you have any idea what precident this sets?

the walk of Fame is a big attraction that draws over 6 million a year. To make it a "your name here" thing just ruins any semblence of achievement that went with it.

Don't you think Knott's, Universal and 6 Flags will want Stars, then Pink's hot dogs, Fredrick's, and The Bowl. Eventually, even the "walk of fame" will get a Star!!!

Not any worse than awarding "Star" status to the likes of
      Ryan Seacrest and Jim Ladd.

Are they awarding too many stars?

If you have the cash, they have the star.

I read they are CONSIDERING Porno Stars now too.

Jenna Jameson is leading a group, and they might start appearing in the next 5 years.

Heck, it was just a bad joke to begin with. Give "Google.com" a star, for all I care.

isn't Nintendo demanding a star for the creator of Mario? now THATS someone who deserves a star, creating Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong

              forever changing the world

I don't know that DL deserves a star as big an impact as it's had it's a place not a person

then again don't animated characters get stars?

              Disneyland is quite a character

Ok I see the arguments, and yes I agree the San Andreas Fault should get one, dam ******* fault and that quake that tramumatized me forever......ok wait, what.

Do people from all over the world come to Disneyland, YES! When I come down there do I make it a point to visit Knotts, SW, MM, or Universal? NOOO! I love my park. I think if they are giving places stars then that is the one place that deserves one don't you?

AS FOR Ryan Seacrest, um I wouldn't even know who he was if I didn't have a 13 y/o sister, and he has a friggin star???

It's interesting that Disneyland will be awarded a star on the Walk Of Fame. It's always been for people (and Lassie and Rin Tin Tin) and not places. There are five categories: Radio, TV, Stage, Films, and Recordings. Wonder which category Disneyland will be given?

I dunno who has all 5 currently, but mabe Disneyland will get all 5 as well. They had a radio station, Walt had the WWoDisney and Disneyland was in the main theme as well as other TV shows that have been filmed there, they have had stage shows, and live apperances from Characters and stars alike. I think it fits just fine.

Interesting. I know Donald Duck just got his star this year! I must say the press photos looked cute. I have never seen the walk of fame but I am sure I would some day.

Shigeru Miyamoto is getting a star? That would be interesting!

As much as I love Disnenyland and Shigeru Miyamoto for all of my Nintendo needs, I think it should stay with Hollywood.

I will be attending this add-on event. I was shocked that once again, we had sign up troubles. When we registered for the event, my wife and I were on one registration (I was the primary and she was the guest). When registration began for the Walk of Fame package, you had to have a unique registration code for each participant. I was given a number for my wife, but only after placing a phone call to WDES. Once again, they admitted their mistake. I am curious to see how many of these mistakes we have to endure before they finally get things right over at WDES.

I may be wrong about this, but I think the way the process works the actor, director, etc. (if living) is often very involved in the whole process of getting their star on the walk. I have donated to a few of the fun-raising events surrounding a Walk of Fame star and it very much seemed like a case of Hollywood saying "you raise the $$$ and we'll give you a star."

Say hello to Johnny Grant, the honorary Mayor of Hollywood for me. I don't really know him, but this guy is at every ceremony that I or my wife have ever been to or that we have seen on TV.
