In many of the classic Disney rides, you are the character and are experiencing their adventures. Originally, Snow White was not in the her ride. In Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, you can picture the person next to you as a giant toad if it helps.

actually had a discussion about this very thing w/some of the Alice CMs last saturday after Remember...

they said the same thing that Lore did, the only reason there is an Alice in the ride is becuase there were complaints that she wasnt' there.
Will there be screams when the sun sets,

Yep, none of the original Fantasyland rides included the character. you were the character. When WDW was built and made their versions of rides, this concept was changed and they included the characters in scenes. Disneyland decided to go that route when their rides were updated along with the 1982 new Fantasyland makeover.

In Mr. Toad the character names are painted on the cars. I suppose if you get Mr. Toad's car then you are Mr. Toad. If you get some other character's car, then maybe you can pretend Mr. Toad is driving with you.

If I remember correctly, at one point you pass a statue of Mr. Toad riding Cyril the horse.

My wife will like that idea...

Maybe I'll mention it to her next week while we're on the ride together.

I think after the second or third time that I refer to her as the toad, I'll sure I'll get smacked (or worse...). LOL
