  • Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

I love you dearly, old friend. But seriously. I think I won't be able to ride you for too much longer. You hurt me. Why? WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU?!?! Last night was a beautiful early Spring night. I saw your magestic mountain peaks and thought, "Ahhhhh. What could be better than a lovely nighttime ride on my good friend, The Matterhorn." And so I waited in line very patiently, very happily in fact! And when it was my turn to board you, I quickly buckled up and got myself situated for the 1 and a half minutes of fun you would provide me.

Alas, one and a half minutes later, I was bruised. Knocked around. BEAT UP.

    ~tear~

I remember when taking a ride on you was fun. Now?

Now you use me and abuse me and frankly...I think I'm getting too old for this relationship.

If you can't treat me with at least some respect, I'm afraid I'll have to cut our weekly visits short.

No hard feelings, OK? But next time, maybe don't make that last turn down the mountain so hard that it feels like you're punishing me for not being 8 years old any more and being able to take it.

You're still my dawg. ~hits chest with fist~

    Kind regards,
    Ana

P.S. I apologize for all the sexual innuendos in this letter. Don't get the wrong idea. I just wanna be friends.

        Re: Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

I guess I've been lucky. I've never gotten bruised or "beat up" on the Matterhorn as many of you have mentioned.

Sorry that the ride hurt you.

          Re: Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

I went to DL solo last month for the first time. I went on Matterhorn. I found that riding solo results in being thrown around the sled much more than when there are 2 riders.

The solution, get a girlfriend to ride with out.

                Re: Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

I feel the same way! I don't recall the bobsleds being so rough, but then again I was alone so I guess having someone else with you helps things out.

EDIT: By the way ... every time I see your user name I can't help but think of Jay & Silent Bob!

                  Re: Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

stop standing up on the Matterhorn, and I think you will find it a smoother ride.

I must like it rough, because I don't think the Matterhorn could ever hurt me enough to where I wouldn't want to ride it.

                          Re: Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

ive only been on the matterhorn once since the refurb ... and i dont feel like going back.

my boyfriend is 6' 6", i'm 5' 8" and they made us sit together in the same seat ... he was so squished and by the time i got into the seat my knees were hitting the handlebar ...

the ride is SOOOOOOO bumpy now!!

so yea ... you wont see me on matterhorn anytime soon

                            Re: Dear Matterhorn Bobsleds,

Everyone says it's better with another person, but I'm not sure about that. When you're alone you get thrown around, but when you go with someone else, someone ends up squished while both of you get thrown around into each other. I'm tall so I prefer going by myself. They always make me behind the other person so I'm the one getting squished, and I don't have leg room, and I have this other person being thrown around on me.

The Tomorrowland side is more painful than the Fantasyland side, IMO, because of that one drop where the TL track goes under the FL track. Try the Fantasyland side one last time before giving up. Also, if you have a sweatshirt/jacket on, try sitting on it. My butt's got no padding and that's where I always feel it on the Matterhorn. Sorry, too much info.....
