  • PotC Premiere Tickets for Sale

I would assume that all of you have or will see the link posted on MiceAge:

    http://www.piratespremiere.com/

That's right, Disney is selling tickets to the Pirates premiere. You get to be in the party, eat the food, watch the movie; popcorn, drinks and everything.

    And all this for only...

    $1500

I was a little suprised by this, but actually the whole thing is a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. The fair marked value for the tickets according to Disney is $100, so $1400 will be tax deductable. However, all of the money goes directly to MAW; Disney isn't keeping a dime. The goal is to raise $3,000,000 dollars total, which would seem to mean that approximately 2000 tickets will be sold. EDIT:

You are welcome to take candid pictures along the red carpet and at the pre-screening premiere party. However, due to time constraints, and for the safety, comfort and security of the stars and guests alike, you are not permitted to ask celebrities to sign autographs or pose for individual pictures. Thanks!"
What do you guys think? Good idea? Bad? Anyone willing to shell out the $1500 bucks?

I think its a good idea because the cash is going to charity.

If only I had an extra $1500 laying around .......

what a wonderful idea of Disney's, they must have figured we were wishing we could go, and now everyone has the opportunity for the price, which disney productions didn't need so they give it all away to Make a Wish.

Kind of funny- I should have named the thread "PotC Tickets for Sale". Now it kinda sounds like there's a blue light special on them or something.

Oh well, I think people get the idea.

I would have to buy two tickets... but $2800 would be tax deductable... OMG... I am SOOOO easily tempted!! And think of the Disney Rewards!!!
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

I am ONLY okay with this because it's going to Make-A-Wish. (Or any charity.) If it were going to Disney's pocket...I'd be outraged!

I was in my room reading the link up on the main page, and I got to the price, and let out a loud
                    "Whoa!"
But it's for a good cause. I hope someone else has fun.

Attend the World Premiere of "At World's End" at Disneyland - tickets on sale now!

Yes, you read the thread title correctly.

Disney is selling tickets to attend the World Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End to anybody who's got the cash. Just how much will it set you back though? Well, only a cool $1,500 of course!

Here's an ad that Disney sent out in an e-mail:

The good thing is that if you can afford it, your ticket price won't be going towards some studio exec's Christmas bonus, but instead every penny of your ticket cost will be going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

But what does that $1,500 ticket include?

                      Well, here's the run-down:
                      • Admission to Disneyland Park, beginning at 6 p.m. on May 19, 2007
                      • Access to the following attractions
                        • Jungle Cruise
                        • Indiana Jones Adventure
                        • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
                        • Splash Mountain
                        • The Haunted Mansion, and of course,
                        • Pirates of the Caribbean.
                      • Complimentary parking.
                      • Buffet supper at the pre-screening private Pirates party in Frontierland, Adventureland, New Orleans Square, and Critter Country.
                      • Reserved seats (assigned on first-come, first-served basis) to view film presented in state-of-the-art digital projection and surround sound in outdoor ampitheater along the Rivers of America.
                      • Popcorn and soft drink.

Regular photo cameras will be allowed on the red carpet and the pre-party, but not at the film screening. All cameras will have to be checked with security at the beginning of the film. No video cameras of any kind will be permitted.

So... got the cash? Well, you might as well spend it.
                      Tickets are available at http://home.disney.go.com/movies/pirates/premiere/

...And be sure to have a trip report ready for MiceChat when you get back from the event

So, is it $1,500 PER PERSON?

The price of taking the family out to the movies is just getting out of hand!
How much do we have to pay to get MiceChat Old?
