  • Songs that remind you?

Sort of an odd question, but it might be worth asking.
are there any songs that remind you of Disneyland that are not Disney songs? For example, Toto's 'Africa'. I don't know why but it reminds me of Disneyland. Any one else have a song that reminds them of Disneyland?

YES!! I now cannot hear "I wish they all could be California Girls" or any Beach Boy Christmas song without thinking of DCA!

From the great American songbook...the Count Basie classics "April In Paris" and "One O'Clock Jump", for the many summer nights listening to him at the Plaza Gardens with a Fantasia ice cream cone...

it's cheesy, but "Billy, Don't Be A Hero" by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods..."The Night Chicago Died" by Paper Lace and "Annie's Song" by John Denver among others...big hits in the Plaza Pavillion kitchen, my first summer of 1974.

I believe Bo Donaldson played at Disneyland...I know he did date nights at Anaheim Stadium...

Dr. Demento was big in kitchens and backstage areas all over the park on Sunday nights...the "Mighty Met" KMET...So I'd have to add "Shaving Cream" and "Sheriff John's Birthday song" to the list....

Maybe a little bit different spin on what you're looking for!

Five For Fighting has a song called "Disneyland."

"It's a nice day, when you wake up at Disneyland"

        Awesome song
        -Ducky

"In my next life, I'm coming back as one of those ducks that lives in Storybook Land..."
"Now you will deal with ME, and all the powers of
        MY IMAGINATION!!!"
        "Someday my prince will come..."

As weird as this may sound the beginning of Rob Zombie's "Dragula" always reminds me of the old tower control sounds from pre-refurb Space Mountain.

I love that song; actually it reminds me of San Diego for some reason.

Anyways a non-Disney song that reminds me of Disneyland is "Wonderfull world" as sung by Louise Armstrong.

Since my strongest memory is melodies, its whatever I'm listening to whenever I'm thinking about DL or on MC or Miceage, it ranges from Gwen Stefani to Black Eyed Peas to Beyonce.

Zo Elliott's "British Eighth." It's a march I performed at Carnation Plaza long ago...makes me think of Disneyland without fail.

Road To Nowhere - Ozzy Osbourne. To this day, I don't know why. It gives me that Los Angeles feeling, and I play it every time we're pulling around Harbor.
Paradise City - Guns N' Roses. My memories of GNR concerts override this most of the time, but I'll play this EVERY single time my mom pulls into the hotel parking. Take me down to the paradise city.

Tommy Tutone "867-5309" because I saw him perform this in Tomorrowland when HISTA was an outdoor stage.

Just so you know, Electric Ave. reminds me of Seal Beach, and Baker Street reminds me of Costa Mesa.
