I was watching the 2nd disc of Alice in Wonderland and one of the bonuses showed a segment of the Fred Warring Show (for those like me unknown about these things, think Lawrence Welk w/o color or bubbles) with Kathryn Beaumont and Sterling Halloway (Alice and Chesire Cat, respectively).

Anyways, they were talking about the segment called The Dance of the Cards and I was thinking, what if (ala Main Street Parade) there be a mini parade of sorts from each land at various times (Main St in the morning, Fantasyland at noon, etc). Just a random thought. What do you think?

It could be interesting. Hard to imagine what a "mini"parade would mean, seems like a whole lot of logistics go into ANY parade event. I'm not even talking about the choreography, I'm talking the routing of people, etc. But the idea of parades celebrating lands could help reaffirm THEME.

I do like your ideas! I even thought of an idea for a long parade that has several floats from each land.

They had mini models of such floats, but I don't remeber where I saw it, it was in a thread a few months ago.

Yep, I agree completely. Crowd control would be the main issue.

The longer parade with floats from each land, or portions of the parade being from each land would be great.

It would be great to see a small force of Stormtroopers escorting Darth Vador and Darth Maul through Main Street.

It would be like a great meal, each land providing a different course to enjoy. Sounds like a lot of fun.

              Re: Inspiration

That's why I said "mini parades," meaning like Fantasyland would have a parade of Alice in woderland cards, Parade of the Siths in Tomorrowland. Re: the issue of crowd control, there's a couple of solutions. One would be to have staggered parade times. Another could be where the crowd follows the parades, meaning Adventureland would have like Lion King, Aladdin, and Tarzan. Then after that 5 minute parade the crowd moves on to NOS where it's a mini mardi gras taken over by Pirates of course. Each parade would be short but sequential. This way the parade crowds can have the choice of going to their favorite land, watch the parade and then go onthat land's ride(s) or follow to the next parade.

It wouldn't surprise me. I heard that Dr. Seuss was into cocaine, it was never confirmed. Einstein got his Theory of Relativity from doing drugs as well. I can understand that, when I was in college I had a hallmate who did mushrooms once and saw strings attached to everyone. two weeks later I was in a physics class and the instructor was talking about the Universal String Theory. go figure.

I read Lewis Carrol's bio on encarta.msn.com and from I what I read, if he was around today, he sounds kinda creepy.

Anyways back to the mini-parades, you could plan like a half-day of Disney parades with the Parade of Dreams being the peak and then going on the rides or Fantasmic, etc.
