  • Fireworks tonight?

A friend of mine was in Anaheim tonight for a Ducks game, and he reported seeing fireworks while he was driving home, starting at around 10:00. He thought that it might be Remember, but he couldn't tell. I can't find any indication that fireworks were actually running tonight, and the park wouldn't have been clear by then for any real testing. He also thought it was a little too far south to be the park, but wasn't sure. Did anyone else see these, and know what they are? (I was in Claremont all night, so I haven't the first clue.)

Probably Angel Stadium. I usually hear them after Remember on the weekends.

Angels only do big bang fridays during certain parts of the season, and on fridays of course. But they do launch pyro from the rock fountain during the star spangled banner, during the opening lineups, anytime the angels hit a home run, and when the angels win. The angels won 9-1 tonight and the game started at 7pm so probably got out around 10, and the pond is close enough to angels stadium that the pyro is certainly noticable...so yeah I'd guess it's that.

He says he doesn't feel like making an account and posting it himself (lazy bum), but he was close enough to Angel Stadium that he would have been able to tell if they were coming from that direction.

Disneyland closed at 9pm lastnight, so it more than likely wasn't Disneyland fireworks - unless they've begun shooting them off after closing. HA

I am sure it was from the Angels game. 9-1... darn! If they scored 1 more run it would have been free wings at Hooters! LOL

Huh. That is interesting because a few nights ago I was staying in Placentia and around 10pm I was laying in bed when I hear the sounds of Fireworks. I figured we were too far away from the Stadium to hear anything coming from there - but maybe I was wrong...

I watched them from my house last night. It looked like they were coming from the convention center. I have never seen fireworks from there before though.

That would fit with why he thought they were too far south to be Disneyland. I guess they could be for POW WOW, but I thought that was over... Google away!

EDIT: Ha ha! Closing ceremonies for POW WOW were last night ending at 10:30. The website doesn't specify fireworks, but I'm betting that's what they were. Jinkies, mystery solved!
