  • Where should a large group go?

My family (and one of my daughters' best friends who is visiting from Hawaii) will be going to Disneyland on Memorial Day weekend for my birthday. There is eight of us. We just found out that another family from work will be going on that same weekend and they're six. I suggested that we all get together when we're there. I asked them to come to Goofy's Kitchen for a kind of birthday party on the Monday morning. I called Disney Dining and found they don't have anything available for a party that large that morning (nor any morning that weekend). They did have Monday night available, but even if our friend's family would stay late enough, that would be getting awfully expensive. I want to do something special, and very Disney because they're not very familiar with Disneyland. Would anyone have any ideas?

    Try Storytellers.
When Goofy's didn't have room for my party Storyteller's did. It's a character meal in the morning. Or Lilo and stitch's.

There is also Blue Bayou or Cafe Orleans.

Since it's memoral weekend it might be hard to get ressies anywhere
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Memorial Day?! Wow, you've got more courage than I do!

Within the park, the food is overpriced and, for the most part, not very good. You might try the Plaza Inn. They host birthday parties, so they're used to big groups. The food is good old comfort food: chicken and pasta, w/ big helpings and free drink refills.

In Downtown Disney, you can try Naples (good pizza, good prices) or the Jazz Kitchen (Southern/Cajun).
