  • idea for DCA's entrance

I was trying to think of how DCA could return to more traditional Disney roots.

I realized that one thing DL has that DCA doesnt, is the attraction posters. Which help get people excited for the adventures inside the park.

I was thinking it might be a nice translation for California Adventure if they installed similar posters under the Golden Gate bridge, as that sort of serves as the same entrance way into the park.

Perhaps to make the concept more unique, instead of posters for specific areas, they could have them advertise the various areas of "california". They could theme them to look like vintage travel posters.

    They could include...
    Condor Flats
    Hollywood Studios
    Hollywood Tower of Terror
    Flick's Fun Fair/ Bountiful Valley
    Paradise Pier
    Grizzly Peak Recreation Area
    The Bay Area
    Pacific Wharf

And if they later retheme the plaza to look like the transportation hub we heard about earlier, the posters would fit perfectly.

DCA definitely needs to have a more GRAND entrance and it should really start before you even step into the park.

Coming through the DCA gates should be like stepping off a train at a beautiful world. A world of "golden" opportunities. And yes, attraction posters would most certainly help.

What if the turnstyles were themed as a train... haha. That would make it even more literal. And yes, attraction posters could be nice.

I agree. It does not have the "portal" feel that Disneyland has. While the railroad had to be elevated so that people did not have to cross tracks to enter Disneyland, the whole experience of going through the tunnel "presents" Disneyland to the guest. It works like a theater curtain to the audience. It hides the magic until it is ready to be revealed to the audience. Then it is revealed all at once.

DCA is so open that we don't feel a sense of awe when entering, at least, nothing like Disneyland.
