        That's a pretty cool commercial. I kind of like the Million Dreams music they use for all the promo stuff. Can't wait for the subs to open!! Amazing it's almost time already..

                well that was interesting...Thanks for the link!!!! not a lot of insight into the ride, but it still is exciting!!!

                Did anyone else get the feeling when the kids dove into the pool that it reminded you of the construction worker diving into the cement mixer in the Vegas.com commercials?

                  After they stopped focusing on the kids I loved the commercial. Disney is concentrating too heavily on children in their commercials. They should be showing grown ups and children alike enjoying the new attraction. This is the exact reason why people not familiar with Disneyland don't go because they expect it to be only for kids.

                      man.. where is that thread where everyone debated endlessly about if they were going to advertise Nemo's opening or not. I guess this pretty much answers that...

                      Banners in the park..
                      a road show touring the west coast..
                      and dedicated TV slots..

                          Great commercial. It really piques my interest, and I would suspect also the interest of those that don't go too often or are otherwise neutral. I do agree there should be adults in the commercial as well. And I do hope they have a disclaimer that children should not dive into swimming pools without adult supervision.

                          Other than that, I think the commercial is great, and I am VERY happy that they actually used the Disneyland castle! There is a first for everything, I suppose! LOL

                            I think it is a great commercial, but as usual I also think that they should not confine themselves with just the YOAMD theme or diving your dream idea.

                            1) First I would do a couple commercials on nostalgia. I would have adults talk about their first experiences with the Sub years ago and why they loved it. It would be along the lines of the Tony Baxter video that is on You-tube. I would try to connect to parents who loved the subs and now can bring their kids to see it. This would hopefully motivate parents to go.

                            2) Second, I would appeal to the Nemo theme. These commercials would be aimed at kids who want to see Nemo "in his own back yard." This commercial sort of does that, but Nemo just flashes by in the spot. It is not enough. I would have all the best loved characters in appear on screen-- Nemo, Dory, the school teacher, all the fish from the aquarium. Kids connect to characters, and I would want to make the commercial about seeing all your "friends" where they live at Disneyland.

                            I feel that this Disney commercial appeals too much to the kids who want to dive underwater or ride a submarine. Now that is fine. There are kids who want to do that, but I think that it is only hitting part of the potential audience. I feel that the dream that the kids are having, does not show clearly enough that THERE IS ACTUALLY A RIDE! I would show more reality than a fantasy the kids are having. Kids love rides! Promote the new ride and attendance will go up.

                              I agree wholeheartedly. Disney's child-oriented marketing is one of the most damaging mistakes that the company makes.

                              Historically, roughly half of the guests to Disneyland have been adults with no children in their parties. And, as Parks & Resorts looks to draw more people from less traditional market segments, the perception that Disney is juvenilia certainly does not help.
