  • C.K. Holliday at Fullerton Railroad Days! Pictures!

I'm back from Fullerton Railroad days with the C.K. Holliday. WOW, what an experience, the C.K. Holliday was shining bright from pilot to coupler. I went in the cab, tooted the whistle, chatted with the engineer. Unfortunately, the whistle was powered on air insted of steam so it sounded different. You can here it in the clip at the bottem. So here are my pictures, I tried to get as much detail as I could. I suggest everyone get to Fullerton before the Holliday leaves!

The banner they had above the Holliday.

It was hot today, but who cared!

    The hand car..

They were advertising the new bio-diesel

When you went in the cab, they gave you a "ticket" which is actually a nice postcard of the Ripley.

Here is a short clip of the whistle being blown...

    and the bell being rung...

Thank you for posting these pictures and videos. Is this the only Disneyland RR exhibit there? If not, what else is there? And where is Fullerton anyway. Sorry, not familiar with the area. Is it fairly close to Disneyland? Can you get there from DL? What kind of train stuff is there?

Fullerton it right next to Anaheim, the place is about 4 miles from Disneyland. The Holliday, handcar, bio-diesel table, and Mr. Broggies booth were the only DLRR exhibits.

Thanks, Nautilus. great photos, as always. It's nice that it was sunny this time around. That's a great shot of the boiler jacket. You can really see the color.

gorgeous pics! Wish that I could make it down there!
                Good morning, son
                In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                It was pain
                Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I managed to get another trip to see the Holliday again this morning since we had a few things to do in downtown Fullerton nearby!

                    Snapped a few more pictures!

A good look at the bottem of the Handcar...

Popped by there today, what a great community event. It was too hot to stand in line to climb in, but we visited the Carrollwood-Pacific booth and took a peek at the O-scale train they're releasing soon. Very cool. I put my name on the list to be notified of the release.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

                              Really great pictures.

I went on saturday. It was great! no one else in my family could make it so I was by myself, 1 big kid getting in the engine and ringing the bell and blowing the wistle.

The Kalamazoo car looked great also.

The carolwood booth was great, and I talked with the folks at the ape pen booth also. They had an artist there, Richard Bird. he was just sitting there painting fabulous watercolors.

The only bad parts were that I forgot my camera, and I didn't have time to eat some of the great looking street meat there.
