  • Nemo AP Sneak Peek gets Deep Sixed

Well, it was bound to happen. At some point last night Nemo went down during the AP sneak preview. There was an over 2 hour wait built up by 10pm and the ride never did reopen by 11. So they send everyone home with an apology and a promise that their tickets would get them in at any time during the Thursday preview. (So you people that are previewing today can expect a few extra riders.
The crowd seemed to take the bad news fairly well. There were a few people that put up the usual stink. There was even a woman in her mid-20's that broke down and cried, which then caused her boyfriend to ditch her, and leave her standing in line as he left the park without her. YIKES!
Hope all goes smoothly today. Good luck sailors!

As I was leaving, there were people yelling at the managers ... sad times. Do people have no respect for others? It said on the tickets that the event may be canceled at any time ...

yeah i thought it was very nice of them to let us come tomorrow... i mean it did say it could be canceled. So letting us ride tomorrow is extremely nice of them.

Yep, we were almost to the front of the line, and the line went down at 8:30 p.m. - they dispatched what seems like every sub in the fleet again and again - at first they said that the lights were out (I believe in the lagoon, that's what it appeared like), and that we'd be riding in the dark. They then said that nothing "synched" - the show scenes were not synching right. So we stayed from 8:30 p.m. to almost 11 and finally took off. Most people seemed to take it in stride, but there were a few that... uh, not so much, as usual.

And we wonder why AP's have a bad reputation.

This was an Annual Pass Sneak Peak thing and the brand new ride develops problems, as all brand new and extremely complicated things are bound to do, and the AP's yell at the CM's who are trying to do something nice for them?

Again I say.... And we wonder why AP's have a bad reputation.

Its going to be interesting to see what happens when it breaks down on a normal day when there are a lot more people waiting for a much longer time.

Without a real soft opening, I think that the possibility that the ride has problems the first few weeks is very possible. I hope that they give away free ice cream to sooth guest's emotions.

People who like to yell- don't like to look at the big picture.

This is why they always use to do soft openings a few weeks before the official opening. Just to work out the bugs.

Also It's really sad to hear about so many APs yelling and causing problems. People you have an Annual Pass......... you can ride the ride days / weeks / years from now.

It's sad, but there are people who decide before anything bad even happens to them that they are mad that day and there's nothing you can do about it - even at the happiest place on earth. Nature of the beast, unfortunately.

Sorry you guys didn't get to ride - I hope you can all make it back tomorrow!

APs have a bad reputation because people like to generalize. If it had been a non-AP preview, you get the same ratio of people taking it in stride as the APs.

I thought most people handled it pretty well. We sat there for 2.5 hours and didn't get to ride and were sad and frustrated, but not miserable. Thankfully I had really good company in line and we had a lot of fun sitting there! I think I will not return tonight as I am tired from last night and worried that the same thing would just happen again.

It's no wonder AP's have such a bad reputation! For those who were yelling at the managers...GROW UP!! This is one reason why I hardly ever mention that I'm an annual passholder to people, especially Disney Cast Members! If it clearly stated on their tickets or elsewhere that the attraction could go down or be canceled at any time, then there's no reason to get all pissy...excuse my french!

Sorry, but something like this just makes me irritated that people can be so rude. The fact that Disney even did this special AP event for the SUBS is very nice of them. And some of these AP's need to understand that and be grateful, regardless of the outcome!

OK, I'll get off my soap box now!

How about free cars from Oprah? Soothe guest's emotions? It was a ride closure (with pre-exisiting notification of that possibility) not a death in the family.
