  • Quality of CMs - DL vs. WDW

After visiting WDW for these past two weeks, I can say that a noticeable difference is in the quality of the CMs. CMs at WDW are much better, friendlier, more knowledgeable than at DL. I don't know if it's the fact that most are from the College Program, there are better working conditions, etc. I just can't remember the last time I received consistent "thank yous," "hellos," and "how are you doing"s from DL CMs. WDW CMs seem happy to be there while DL CMs clearly do not. TDA really needs to step it up.

A lot of it has to do with not encountering APs and locals who act like they own the place. It's too bad really and I agree that extra training could be done. There's been A LOT of great CMs I've noticed at Disneyland too, but overall it can be taken another notch or two higher. The EXTRA step used to be the norm.

But when I went to WDW, I met a lot of CMs who were rude, snobbish, and just blah. Ok maybe it's because I was a Disneyland CM and they, never been to our parks felt that they were superior in every way. It really rubbed me the wrong way when all of them were like that.

Maybe you should stop going to DLR? You consistently find a way to put down CMs at DLR. If WDW is that great, awesome, you should go there as much as possible. In the meantime, give our CMs a break. These huge blanket statements are rediculous.

It should be noted that this is same person who encouraged everyone to "Ask CMs what time the 3:00 parade starts, to see if they give us the correct answer."

Oh GAWD, not one of these threads again. Aren't we tired of them yet? I know I am!

There are many different factors that play a part in an AP's view of a "quality" CM. Where the CM is from has a lot to do with it also... lots more local kids at DLR, over at WDW there are more foreign kids.

TDA really has no say on the quality of kids being raised in Southern California... but if you have any suggestions I'm sure you'll chime in from that pedestal of yours.

Sorry, I accept the blame. I should have let it die but I just had to say that Dland has some great CMs too and that my WDW experience wasn't as rosy.

Does WDW have a secret bathroom we could get video of?

I heard that the WDW CM's were Genetically inbred.

I ate at the Blue Bayou 2 weeks ago for the first time. Those CM kicked ***. Great service. I have always been treated nice by Disneyland CMs. Except for that girl with the lazy eye in DCA. She seemed a little angery. I guess because I am Irish. A racial thing.

I think all the florida kids are jealous of all the attention disneyland is getting with our new FNSV and trip reports and everything. And the lack of posts in there forum that they have to invade ours. For shame

This was completely different than what I experienced. I have never seen a CM at Disneyland literally yell at a guest... but I did witness it 4 times during the 7 days I was in WDW.
