  • Fastpass vs. Carpool Lane

    Hello -
I am a HUGE believer in fastpasses BUT I was thinking about this the other day. Here in Southern California we have really bad traffic and when caltrans adds a new lane they want to add a carpool lane, well not many people carpool. What do you think of the similarities between carpool lanes and fastpasses? I was just thinking about this since NEMO does not have fastpass.
    Thanks

Not the same thing...anyone who enters the park can get/use a FastPass though some just choose not to. Not everyone can legally use a Carpool Lane.

And I agree with you - Carpool Lanes create far worse backups, congestion, addition pollution, etc than they save the fortunate ones who can use them. Flawed concept from flawed-thinking politicians, especially when they spend all that money to build extra freeway interchange bridges. Honestly, was there no better way to spend that money than on roads that not everyone can use?? Argh.

And the best part is EVERYONE gets to deal with those lovely construction zones, and the headaches that come with them, with the K-rails right next your car etc, on either side for the 8-12 and beyond months it takes to build said carpool lane. I love dealing with construction traffic and dangers for a road I'll hardly be able to use.

and with fastpasses, you could use them any time of the day ;]

Now, I'll turn that little mouse's dream into a nightmare Fantasmic!

Fastpass is nothing more than a shell game....there's a reason they were not used for Nemo and that the trend is to slowly eliminate them altogether.....there's far fewer in use now than say, 5 years ago.
