  • How would you react?

Ok, I want to start this thread by clarifying a few things. First of all, I am a tomorrowland cast member and I work the Nemo ride. Secondly, I am also an annual passholder and enjoy the park as much as the next.

Now that I have said that, I want to know how people would react to a situation I was faced with today. I was at Nemo greeter with a 150 minute wait. I was speaking with a guest regarding the handicapped and marine observation outpost when I had a guest, with an annual pass hanging around his neck and in an ecv start beeping his horn at me because he couldn't get into the handicapped line. I turned to him and said, just one second sir and I will be with you. I then went back to the previous guest to finish my conversation when he honked again and then proceeded to run over my right foot, not once but twice. Then, as I was biting my tongue on stage to prevent myself from saying I shouldn't he said ... don't ever ignore me.

I so wanted to say so many things but I didn't ... I just called security and had him escorted out of the park for assault on a CM and then proceeded to CFA to wrap and ice my foot.

Here is my question, do you think kicking the guest out of the park was too much or would you have reacted much more vocally. I can tell you one thing though, AP's like this are the ones who make a lot of CM's hate every AP.

Anywhoo, just wondering what you think!

Wow, I'm sorry that happened to you. Is your foot ok? I think you took the correct choice of action, becoming more vocal would definetely be bad show as a cast member and could get you in trouble as well. Just rejoice in the fact that he wasn't able to experience the ride.

Ouch sorry that happened. I personally would have loved to yell at him an assortment of things regardless of him being in a wheelchair or not, rude is rude. I think you did the right thing i mean in your position u cant really yell at him.

If anything, I actually think you under-reacted. Seriously, you should have filed charges with the Anaheim Police Department. Although if this was a part of him getting escorted out of the park that would be a good thing.

Also, Disney should sue him to get medical expenses related to the treatment of your foot, since Disney is going to have to foot the bill (no pun intended) since this is now a worker's comp situation.

Ouch! Hope your foot is okay. I think you totally did the right thing. AP holder or not, what that guy did was totally uncalled for.

I agree. Letting it end at just having him escorted out of the park implies that not a whole ton of retribution will come to those who physically harm CMs.

This is a legal issue. He physically attacked you...no matter where you are, this situation should not be easily brushed under a carpet.

I think you responded to the situation very appropriately, though. That takes a LOT to be able to bite your tongue with something like THAT happening. I applaud your stamina and pateince.

The person deserves not just never come back to the park, but also get sued the heck out of.

You had your AP before getting hired, right? Do you even use it at all anymore?

And secondly, you did the right thing. I haven't had an opportunity yet to kick a guest out, but I imagine it must be pretty satisfying, especially in your situation with the guest not getting to ride Nemo, although your foot must be hurting.

I think you did the right thing, too. Assault on anyone, CM or guest, is unacceptable.

Since he followed up running your foot over with "Don't ever ignore me" that shows that he ran over your foot on purpose and with intent to cause pain to you...that is battery. When I worked a patrol, if I would have been called in and heard your story and had no reason to doubt it I would have hooked up the operator of the ECV up taken him/her in.

You did pretty well, but as one other said, I think you let them off lightly if a park ejection is all they got. An arrogant "adam henry" like that needs an ego check via a few nights in a cell and face to face with a judge.
