  • Ratatouille In The Park

I've seen more than a few skits and comedy film portrayals where they are trying to make fun of a Disney wannabe park by having, in the place of Mickey Mouse, some anatomically accurate looking cartoon rat as the park mascot. Everyone laughs. Disney has Mickey Mouse. They have a rat. This is a Disney Park, that is an "other guy park."

Today, in the park, I saw two rats from Ratatouille doing a meet and greet. I hate rats. When I see those rats, I don't want my kids to go up and get an autograph and a picture. I want to step on that rat. Drown it. Feed it poison. Set my dog after it to catch it and crunch it in its mouth until it's no longer crunchy. For the moment, it felt like Disney had fallen to "other guy park" for a while. I get the tie-in, but I don't like it.
