I, too, have an irrational fear of Costco.

My sister is pretty claustrophobic and she did ok. She said the hardest parts were before the sub left the dock and when it was dark. She also asked to sit on the end of the row right next to the stairs and she said that helped A LOT! She said she probably wouldn't do it again w/ a full sub of people - but she said a slightly less full sub would be fine if she was sitting next to the stairs. Good luck!!

I do not have clostrophobia, but I don't know if it has the stigma of a closed space, there are windows. Its kinda like a boat with a roof. I think you could at least try, it's only 12 minutes long you can make it

Some people really can't make it 12 minutes though. Just depends on how bad your claustrophobia is. You know your limitations best. If you decide to try it though, I would agree with the stair suggestion. Sit right next to them. It will feel more open and do your best to get a less full sub or sit next to Nicole Richie who is for all intents and purposes not really there.

Baby steps. Buy something at Walmart first. See? that wasn't so bad. Now try Home Depot. A roll of masking tape or something...doesn't matter. Eventually, you'll be able to get in and out of Costco without the cold sweats.

Maybe you could just do the movie that they have for those who can't board the subs (can't remember the buzz name).

I can't go into the caves on TSI because of the tight spaces. I can go into Injun Joe's, but after that they get too narrow. However, what worries me about the subs is that I'm terrified of sharks. Are there animatronic sharks in the water?

I do not suffer from claustrophobia, but I was quite upset about waiting so long for such a mediocre ride.

I know the problem, it's really a tight fit.

They seriously need to have a dispenser of petroleum jelly or Caveglide or something ...

Get Duck tape instead, you'll be better prepared for the parks.

I am severly claustrophobic and there is no way I will even attempt this ride. Simply watching the people stuffing themselves down the staircase give me anxiety. I simply observed the ride from the MOO. I think it's nicely done, overally.

In short, if you feel your claustrophobia would be an issue, don't try it...use the MOO instead.
