  • Fantasmic Now Using DLP Digital Projectors for Water Screens

This must of happened during the refurb, but the 3 70mm film projectors used for the mist screens have been replaced with DLP Digital projectors (I assume 2K). How do I know this. I have managed megaplex movie theatres for years and know all about projection. Next time you see the show you will notice the image is just not as bright, but the color information is much better and you can't see the "edges: of the image, as in the rectangle shape.

It didn't look any different to me. And it certainly doesn't cover up the duck poop smell.

I could really see the difference in the color quality, but then again, it is hard to make some shapes really crisp because of the water screens. I will take another look tonight

I'm excited to see the change, and I bet it is enough to actually see a real difference. Especially since I haven't seen it for a while.

Fantasmic hasn't used film projectors since a couple of big refurbs before this one. I work for the company that supplied and installed the digital projectors.

So, did they just use Windex on them for this refurb ?

It must have been an upgrade either from 1.3k to 2k or from 2k to 4k.

The new digital projection system shoukd create absolutely brilliant imagery against Fantasmics water screens. I can't wait to experience the show afresh! This is soo exciting that it's difficult to contain myself :yea:
