  • July 4th at Disneyland (Photo Heavy!)

Finally, I have a few shots up from my July 4th trip to Disneyland, which was very enjoyable. These are the first shots with my new camera. Hope you enjoy, and let me know if you have any comments - thank you!

The United States Marine Corps band performed for a special Flag Retreat ceremony and then again before the Parade of Dreams. Semper Fi!

Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at the Golden Horseshoe Saloon:

    It's a Small World:

    Jedi Training Academy:

    Enchanted Tiki Room:

Someone asked about this little guy:

Saw these two monks waiting for the parade. I'm not sure if the saffron robes cellphones, and video cameras make a "July 4th" statement or more a "vow of poverty" statement:

And while we're here on Main Street:

    Parade of Dreams:

Mickey was on the final float, but Minnie was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she developed a royal pain, or perhaps an earache?? Heh heh.

And just a couple of fireworks shots:

Oh, and I do want to thank my companions for the entire day! Thanks to my son, for driving:

Our chef (he seemed a little, well... goofy):

Future plans all the way to infinity (and beyond!), by this guy:

    Party planning by Minnie:

Close up lens inspection by my son (thank you!):

And my wife, Aurora, for, well, looking pretty even though she was in a bad mood that day. (Crowds do that to people):

Just as a reminder, in case you haven't viewed one of my photo threads before - a $10 donation is required if you have viewed any part of this thread. Pay up! Just KIDDING! But I did want to let you know that any one of the photographs above are a clickable link, so if you're curious about camera settings and data, feel free to look on each photo's page. All photos were taken with a 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens.

Terrific pictures! And Peach looks adorable on the sub window, how cute!

I feel bad for those parade dancers/characters. They look uncomfortably hot and sweaty.
You don't need me or my ham, cheese, cheese, cheese, tomato, cheese, ham and tomato sandwiches. And cheese.

^ I felt sorry for them also - it was really warm, but they do it all with a smile...

Froggy, I love all the wonderful pictures! You're work is brilliant. I've been meaning to ask about your new camera, since I noticed that your signature had changed. And I was wondering if you had picked up any new lenses too. Congratulations!

I particularly loved the picture of the footlights in what I assume is the Golden Horseshoe. It's very beautiful. Thanks again!

I was at the Flag Retreat Ceremony that day as well, and actually I struck up a conversation with the tall bearded guy in your second picture towards the left. Although I have to ask if you have any more pictures of those Marines ... they were looking VERY good in their uniforms.

Oh, and by the way I deem your pictures drool worthy!

Great photos with the new camera, but then you take great photos no matter what kind of camera you use

Just out of curiosity, what kind of camera were you using before?

Your son is getting more handsome in every picture and your wife looks like such a doll. I always love your pictures so I guess I will have to send my $10 in now.
