  • Musical Chairs, anybody

As you well know, our pal littlecricket has a bunch of Alice and Mad Hatter Musical Chairs videos here:

    LittleCricket's YouTube page.

Has anyone on here played at Disneyland?

I have once! On my May 18 visit, Wendy noticed me as they were getting ready to play, and she asked me if I was going to play, and I said "Yes," and I played.

No, but in January my kids were playing games with Alice and the Mad Hatter at coke corner. Not musical chairs though.

Can anyone tell me where and when this takes place? Do they do it every day?

It usually starts around 2:30 PM at Refreshment (Coke) Corner. And yes, it's everyday!

Awesome! It looks like a lot of fun to watch, and has always struck me as one of the very best ways characters interact with guests in the park. Thanks!

                    Re: Musical Chairs, anybody

                    I'm frightened of musical chairs.

I broke my collar bone playing a strange variant of it.

The most embarrassing part was that I was 17 AND sober at the time. 11 years later and it still tweaks in the winter and has me breaking out into a cold sweat "when the music stops".
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out. - Bill Hicks

My two youngest daughters played two summers ago--the older one ended up "winning." Last week my youngest daughter who is now 7 played again and she "won." It is a fun activity with the characters but I can see what a tough job it must be for the actors to keep it fun and not a disappointment for competitively charactered children when they are out.

That sounds like so much fun. I remember a few years ago one afternoon we were over by the opera house and there were a few characters playing Simon Says over in the area between backstage and the store. It was fun to watch.

That sounds like even more fun than musical chairs. Some "Simons" are so good at it and I'm sure Disney would get the best. Was it a face character leading or was it a regular person who had characters in attendance?

I know there's also a "Duck-Duck-Goose" game with the Princesses and Alice and Hatter also do Charades if littlecricket remembers correctly.

I'd like to see more of these games than just autographs and picture taking.
