  • Indiana Jones Expansion in the Future?

I know some of you wise MCer's must know something of this. I was surfing the internet and came across it on Wikipedia. This sounds so cool, I really wish they would have done this. We could have 2 E tickets where IJA is plus an indoor showbuilding section of JC and an additional show building for the DRR. Does anybody know more about this? Do you think it could still be done in the future or is it too late?

Re: Indian Jones Expansion in the Future?

From what I can remember this was the original concept for Indiana Jones And The Forbidden Eye (under a different name though). Unfortunately it was never funded all the way.

I hope someday some Disney park does get this version. But, sadly, I do not see this happening for the Disneyland version.

As I recall, that was the original proposed concept for IJA, however, due to budget cuts, the extra attractions and expansions were wiped right off the drawing board. The budget cuts also kept the 'rat room' and 'dart corridor' from meeting their full potential.

I could be wrong, but I recall this to be the case. Hope it helps.

I found the info on Wikipedia, I have never heard anything about this either. So I figured I would ask the wise folks at Micechat.

              Man what a bummer.
It must be so frustrating for WDI, they come up with such awesome concepts and then some pencil pusher slashes them to bits. very sad.

The mine cart rollercoaster was probably where the idea came from for Indiana Jones and the temple of peril ride at DLP. (Which I have ridden )

Thats right, that was the original concept for IJA, they had the artwork hanging in the NOS gallery for awhile.

I think I have a copy of it in one of my books. If I do, I will try to scan and post bigger tomorrow.

Now was the mine ride supposed to be seperate from the Indy we have now, I was under the impression that there would be two Indy attractions, a show building for JC and also for DRR. That would be cool if they could have built a roller coaster on top of the ride below taking advantage of vertical space for the coaster and maybe even have the two rides interact in some way.
