  • The Rain Forest Cafe is on Fire!

I'm walking into work today and the roof of the Rain Forest Cafe is on fire. I'll try to post more via this PDA. Looks like there will be water damage inside. They are directing all guest around the area. Major crowd control issues happening at the moment. :mob:

Yep a real fire. DLRD has called a code 4. The fire is out and now the clean up begins. Looks like there will be lots of water damage. DTD parking is closed.

Ther dosen't seem to be any injuries. They are letting guest back in the Rain Forest to get their personal belongings. I got to run. On stage in 30 mins.

KNX 1070 News Radio mentioned the fire, it was on the second and third floors, and no reports of injuries....

The birds and additional fish are apparently housed in the basement level so hopefully not too much damage filtered down.

                  Oh noes!

                  What about the animatronic gorillas?
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

This is my favorite restaurant. The exotic birds could easily be moved to another site, if necessary. The fish would be more difficult. I'm glad they are housed on the lower level.

With the Monorail station being right next to the Rainforest Cafe, I'm wondering if it has been affected?

There are macaws that come out to do shows on the little stage outside. THey have it at all the Rainforest Cafe locations, not just at DTD.
