What does the Walt Disney Company have against working class families?
That fact is a little unfair to Disney because the company's pricing policy back then was completely irrational.

But allowing some guests in at potentially $1.00 per day now is rational?

Not only is the inflation factored in, but employee, er, cast member wages, park maintainence and other factors like the costs of energy have played a part in the higher ticket prices, plus before 1982, you had to buy tickets for rides, hence the "E-tickets" and so on.

Am I making any sense whatsoever here?

Darkbeer, do you have any information on the Character Dining price increase? From what I initially saw, PCH Grills was staying the same while the other locations were going up a couple bucks and Goofy's Kitchen was given the largest price jump. I think these are going into effect before November. There was a sign posted about this that has since been removed from my location, so I can't confirm more exact details.

They have less disposable income for one thing.
