Ahh memories. It was a great year.

It's funny that some of the images don't match the words to the song, Like Big Thunder going past during the "circus train" in fantasyland bit.

I just have to know who wrote that.

And then to make poor Danny Kaye sing it. :bash:

Boy....they sure liked to sing their way through the specials back then, didn't they? This was almost as painful as that WDW travel special from the 70's with the little girl in the mini skirt.

At the same time, I would pay real money for a copy of this entire special. I'm pretty sure it's not on Disney Treasures. Great stuff. I'm watching some of the other parts on Youtube now. I've never seen this before.

Ya know...the Osmonds were actually pretty good.

That was silly! What a line-up at the beginning...Michael Jackson, Danny Kaye...Adam Rich! LOL

Did anyone else think the character Mickey at the end looked a bit odd? I wouldn't have thought that the characters would look so much better developed now.

Michael Jackson when he was still a black guy. Hoooooooly schmokes.

(Apologies to Disneyland RR Guy if you were going to post this...)

I was there during the 25th. (and many others)

Got a button around here somewhere to prove it! hehe

                Those WERE the days!

Now I'm hoping to make it at least to the 75th!

I was there, too. Worked a total of 16 hours of the 25 hour event that the park was open on July 17. During my time off in between, I was at Town Square for the special rededication ceremonies they had at 2:30pm.

                    Indeed, those were the days...

I was there as well. I didn't think I had seen the special until I heard the Danny Kaye song. The thing is (and this is scary) it is the ONLY thing I remember about the special.

There was another Danny Kaye song that was a more typical Danny Kaye fun number.

I'll have to search youtube myself I guess.
