  • Gate park admission prices over the years?

Does anyone have a resource that documents the price of a single day DL only entry ticket since its inception in 1982? It needs to be a verifiable reference suitable for Wikipedia. Either on paper or a reliable website.

My Google grepping skillz aren't helping me today. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

I expect that Opus1 will be along sometime.

Re: Gate park admission prices over the years?

I just posted this in the other thread:

In 1984, a one day Adult Disneyland Passport cost $14. - - (the Passport might still have been a Magic Kingdom Club exclusive at the time).

      http://www.finddisney.com/tickets.htm

      - - that's when all the rides were operational and well-maintained and park employees earned a living wage and retirement benefits and new rides and lands were built on a regular schedule. New Fantasyland had just opened along with an extravagant parade, Flights of Fantasy. The Golden Horseshoe Revue was performed daily throughout the year and the Polynesian Revue was performed daily in peak season. Fireworks and the Main Street Electrical Parade were performed nightly in Summer. Big name entertainment appeared often. There were many special weekend seasonal events. Fantasy on Parade was performed at Christmastime.

According to the consumer price index calculator at this link:

      http://www.minneapolisfed.org/research/data/us/calc/

That $14. is valued at $27.69 today.

      The current price charged: $63.

In 1982, the one day Disneyland Adult Passport was $12. (That's unlimited use of all attractions except shooting galleries).

        http://www.finddisney.com/tickets.htm

Today that $12. is worth $25.55

I was born in 1968 and I remember a ticket cost $8. I don't remember when that would have been, nor do I recall if that was for a child, junior, or adult. But I do remember this.

Wow merlin, those prices differences are depressing.

I'd also like to know the cost of in-park food back then! How much was a churro? How much was a coke?!

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

Thanks Merlin, that site is very cool.

I'm unsure if using that would break the No Original Research rule of Wikipedia... *considers*

Interesting that the ticket they have captioned at 1981 is date stamped 1982...

I remember what a boost I got from an escape day at Disneyland while I was in college during those years. It was affordable enough to do once-in-a-while on a shoestring budget. And since that was before Annual Passports, off-season in Fall and Spring, you could find days when the park was nearly all yours for that price.

They didn't have churros "back then". I think they started adding churro carts in the 80's sometime. I have no idea what a coke cost. I drank mostly orange juice when I went...

Clarifaction -- they didn't sell churros in Disneyland back them. Of course, they had churros!

At the time, you could buy the Passport from your Magic Kingdom Club (social group, personnel office - - yes, that's before the invention of "Human Resources", etc) and they were good indefinitely. The date stamp was put on it the day you used it at the park and you had to show it at each attraction.

Ahhhh.. Well, what did they have? I remember hearing something about tuna fish sandwhiches, but that kind of creeps me out.. little kids getting all tuna-y and then touching all of the rides and stuff. Gross

Did they have the usual fare.. burger and corn dogs and pizza shops? I honestly have no clue!

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

                              The Yact Bar
                              Chili Dog: $0.40
                              Fries: $0.25
                              Coffee: $0.10

These prices are from Yesterland, but no year is specified. Prices adjusted for inflation will be assumed for 1957 (open) and 1966 (close). I think this gives an overall good idea of the prices of food at Disneyland in the 1950s and 1960s.

                              1957
                              ChiliDog: $2.93
                              Fries: $1.83
                              Coffee: $0.73

                              1966
                              ChiliDog: $2.54
                              Fries: $1.59
                              Coffee: $0.63
