  • What rides?

My mom's boyfriend is taking his daughter with us to DL this weekend. She's 40 inches tall and were trying to figure out what rides she can do. It seems like a lot of stuff is 48', anybody have some advice.

Check disneyland.com for specifics (it's not loading for me)...I believe you can do basically everything if you're 42'...she should at least be able to ride Matterhorn.

You're safe. 40 inches is the magical height in Disneyland. There's a few things at DCA she won't be able to ride, but 40 inches works on everything at DLand.

      Have fun!

Whoops, not Indiana Jones, but everything else.

        Re: What rides?

        Almost.

40 inches is indeed the magical height for Disneyland.
        BUT Indiana Jones is 46".

So, in Disneyland, she can do everything except Indiana Jones.

In California Adventure, there are several rides she can not ride:
        - Grizzly River Run (42")
        - California Screamin' (48")
        - Maliboomer (52")
        - Mulholland Madness (42")

        But there are notable exceptions:
        - Tower of Terror (40")
        - Soarin' Over California (40")
        - Jumpin' Jellyfish (40")
        - Tuck and Dive's (36")
        - Orange Stinger (40" if accompanied by an adult [do they allow lapsitting???? I don't know.] 48" if by yourself)
        - Sun Wheel (No height requirement at all).

I just measured my son tonight (we are going to DL in two weeks) and he's exactly 40" tall...ahhh, the magical height! He just wants to be tall enough to ride Star Tours LOL!

Better wear the big shoes just in case.

                Re: What rides?

Beware of just being 40 inches tall! That was what I measured my son as before our trip and then when we got to the ride the measuring-stick-thingie was still half an inch above his head. Now either I used a faulty tape-measure, or Disney are adding an extra bit of hieght to be on the safe side - but just don't get your hopes up is all I'm saying. Disapointment was forthcoming.

                  Re: What rides?

Good advice Nathan - on our trip when our daughter at age 4 was sooo close to the magical 40, there were different results on different rides even! She was ok'd for Star Tours but a "no" for Big Thunder.

On the other hand our 3 year old was 40" on his 3rd birthday, so I think we're safe there if we wanted to put him on any of the 40" rides now that he's a whopping 3 1/2 (haven't measured him lately...must do that!).
I love my awesome crazy wonderful friends!!
