  • Special Events at the Parks?

So flipping through the tv last night and I land on Disney Channel. They are interviewing Christy Carlson Romano from Kim Possible/Even Stevens. She was talking about her recent run on Broadway as Belle in Beauty and the Beast and her new song on a Disney album. The show ended with her singing live at DCA in front of the animation building.

Where is the information about events like these that happen in the park? Was this part of May4th? I see these things on Disney Channel and wonder how I would find out enough in advance to plan a trip?

i was there that day...a cast member friend had told me a couple of days in advance, i don't know if you could find out earlier than that...but it was a saturday i think in march. right before the release of disneymania 3, a bunch of people including raven performed and signed autographs/posed for pics ect. if you happened to be at DCA that day they had signs up telling about the events and filming and such.

The thing about those kind of events is that the Park always likes to keep it low key. They don't advertise it mostly because they don't want craziness. Especially if they are filming. Maybe someone here knows if there is a way tho.

What you saw on the Disney channel was called "Disney 411". I watch the Disney channel all the time late at night. The one with Christy Carlson is about a year old. Since May 5th 2005, they are showing all the new attractions/events at each theme park around the world with different Disney channel stars. At the end of 5 minute promotion or commerical ends with the star(s) singing at the park.

That said I guess what I am sort of digging towards is that it would be extremly awesome is that if we as a board could create a sticky anytime we hear about these events from our fellow CMs so that others of us could dodge out of work/life and come see these things that apparently happen wayyyyyyyy more often than I knew about.

            Awww, you missed your girl.

Thanks for the info, Malibu. I'll have to start watching the Disney channel more often!
            Good morning, son
            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
            It was pain
            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
