  • Best/Worst Food in the Disneyland Resort

    Fellow MiceChatters,

What are your recommendations for restaurants/fast-food dining in the Disneyland Resort? Trying to get some ideas beyond which places have the best atmosphere and so forth and really figure out where the best food is.

What are some food locations to avoid? What are some of the worst things you've regretted ordering?

Please add your input in these categories, perhaps if there's enough interest I will add a poll to see which suggestions get the most votes.

Please remember to add your suggestions for both BEST and WORST:

Best Food at a Walk-Up Location:
Best Food at a Table-Service Location:
Best Outdoor Cart for a Snack:

Worst Food at a Walk-Up Location:
Worst Food at a Table-Service Location:
Worst Outdoor Cart for a Snack:

PS I think it's unavoidable to make this topic resort-wide given the proximity of the hotels, DCA and DTD to Disneyland park.

Thanks for your input and feedback.

Just a question... Are your comments taking into consideration the old Blue Bayou menu moving to the French Market?

And also, French Market isn't a table service location.

Re: Best/Worst Food in the Disneyland Resort

As you include the whole resort, I'm going to venture outside the Parks proper. Yamabuki Restaurant at the Paradice Pier Hotel is wonderful. They redid it last year and the new decor is lovely and relaxing. The service is excellent and they have the best crunchy rolls I've ever had. But don't fear, you can also get 'western' food done with a Japanese flair. It's not cheap, but it is good.

I wouldn't get a burger from anywhere but Whitewater Cafe at the Grand Californian. You pick up your drink and sides buffet-style but they will bring items from the grill to your table. I especially like their French dip sandwich. It's right around the corner from the 'back' entrance to DCA.

I also agree that Catal has amazing food, but the service is either excellent or awful. It's been good more times than bad, but the two bad times make me less likely to recomend it for someone's one and only experience.

              Enjoy!

Well shoot, if we're doing the entire resort, I'm going to have different answers!

Best Food at a Walk-Up Location: Plaza Inn, French Market, Pizza Port
Best Food at a Table-Service Location: Steakhouse 55
Best Outdoor Cart for a Snack: Corn Dog

Worst Food at a Walk-Up Location: Riverbelle Terrace or Rancho Del Zocalo
Worst Food at a Table-Service Location: Uva Bar
Worst Outdoor Cart for a Snack: no opinion

Re: Best/Worst Food in the Disneyland Resort

Best Food at a Walk-Up Location:
If you like a nice salad, the salads at RRPP were nice. The pasta was ok and the pizza too. Neither of those would make the best list.
Also, Rancho Del Zocolo was nice. The Chicken was good. The combos pretty good too.
The Soup and chili in the bread Bowls everywhere were really good.
The Panini at Naples was nicely done.
Best Food at a Table-Service Location:
Going to have to split em up.
high end would go to Catal
Run of the mill would go to Goofy's Kitchen.
Best Outdoor Cart for a Snack:
Hmmm. I like the Ice cream between the two Tollhouse cookies.
The fruit carts are nice too.
It technically isn't a cart but the Dole Whip stand is nice.
                  Also the corn dogs. Yummmm.

Worst Food at a Walk-Up Location:
Not that it was bad food. It was good. But I'd give all the hamburger stands a tie here because they are well, hamburger stands. But they were really nice as hamburgers go.
The Pizza at Naples was not all that special for it being Naples.
Worst Food at a Table-Service Location:
Blue Bayou. It isn't bad food. It's just extremely over priced. If you want a true high end experience, I'd suggest Napa Rose, Catal
Worst Outdoor Cart for a Snack
The Popcorn carts. I'm not in to Popcorn at Disney and as Popcorn goes, it isn't all that good.

                        Best outdoor cart: Tropical Imports

Worst food at a walk-up location: Tomorrowland Terrace (the line is so slow and the food is only average)
                        "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, Zip-a-Dee-Ay,
Home sweet home is the lesson today."

You're wrong, Brer Rabbit, why would I want to be home when I can be at Disneyland?!?

                            IMO:

Best walk up - Red Rocket's Pizza Port!!!!! LOVE that place!!
Best sit down - Carnation Cafe, Steakhouse 55 and Cafe Orleans
Best cart - Tiki Bar -- Dole Whip, and I'd say Bengal BBQ, since it's more of a cart then a real restaurant!!!

Worst walk up - Village Haus
Worst sit down - I have heard Ariel's Grotto, I only eat at the few that I like!!
Worst cart - Turkey legs!!! They are GROSS!!!
