  • TRON 2 back on -- Tomorrowland awaits?

TRON has the visual excitement and high concept to make wonderful Tomorrowland material. And it has the kind of psychedlic futurism that Tomorrowland is missing since Inner Space and Speed Tunnel left us. I hope it works out.

I hope the movie rules. I think it definitely can change Tomorrowland for the better.

Heartily agreed--the initial concept of the movie (the 'digitization' of solid, living matter into data, and its subsequent 're-actualization') is a terrific base for an attraction. If the movie is made, and successful, maybe we'll finally see TRON get its long-overdue recognition.

Who else wants Light Cycles on the Peoplemover track? And I don't just mean in the Superspeed Tunnel.

Or maybe an attraction similar to Inner Space? Man, I LOVE Tron.

Knowing Disney, they will probably hire Eddie Murphy to completely kill the movie.

As long as David Warner is not in the new one, I might be happy. Plus, the story needs to be more detailed...

This is what the REPORTER had to say:

                            Kosinski will program Disney sequel

                            By Borys Kit

                            Sept 11, 2007

TORONTO -- Commercial director Joseph Kosinski is in final negotiations to develop and direct "Tron," described as "the next chapter" of Disney's 1982 cult classic. Sean Bailey is producing via the Live Planet banner, as is Steven Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original film.

Kosinski... will oversee the visual development of the project and have input on the script, which is being written by "Lost" scribes Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Story details are being kept secret.

... The arcade game based on the movie was so popular that it earned more than the movie...

But honestly, do yourself a favor and rent the film and be.....

                              moderately amused.

But somehow I like it much more than that!
