  • AC in Finding Nemo submarine voyage

I was wondering if there was A/C onboard the subs because my mom will freak out if it gets too hot in there.

They could open the screen door if it gets too hot!

I went on the subs Labor Day weekend when it was over 106 degrees outside thinking that the subs were going to be torture once inside. Surprisingly it was pleasant. Not cold, but definitely not too hot.

Well, the second day of cast previews was pretty bad. I got in a sub that had no circulation. By the end, we couldn't see out the portholes! And when the latch opened and the air came in it was like air conditioning. But I believe all the subs have AC in them(or atleast AC holes at each porthole so they don't fog up.)

The sub I went in was pretty warm. Once it started going it seemed better or I forgot about being hot, but when we stopped It became hot again.

It gets pretty hot and stuffy in the subs.

Sorry to say I can't handle the subs.
                  -Claustrophobic conditions
                  -Smelly
-Seats are FAR to small, even for an average sized person
-The thought of being stuck in there when the ride breaks down with all the above mentioned conditions....NO THANK YOU!

I could only imagine what it's like inside there on a hot day in the afternoon.
No joke....the mother sitting next to me on the ONE time I went on it was asking her son if he took a shower any time lately. The 14ish year old replied no!
                  I rest my case.
It's a great ride, don't get me wrong, Just not for me.

                        Yes, there is air conditioning....

Sadly, the merely duplicated the old 1959 technology, rather than going to a modern, much more efficient system.

When the sun beats down on the steel "sub" for a while, it does get warm. Also, the A/C system can't handle the influx of warm, moist air when the hatches are opened, so it just starts to cool off when the ride is over.

                        Otherwise, it's perfect!

                        Regards; KotF

I did nemo once, and won't do it again until I can't remember it very well, because I am SOO claustrophobic!! I mean, I don't even like elevators, so yeah..
But you have to experience it at least once!

Re: AC in Finding Nemo submarine voyage

There's the optional special viewing room for the disabled and/or people that are too claustrophobic, etc.

I don't think the subs get hot, and I've ridden them in the morning and afternoon on a 90-100 degree day outside. And I get an allergic reaction if my body overheats...

I think the cooling vents in the portholes do a fine job.

However, if someone goes into the submarine thinking that they're not going to have an enjoyable experience, then they've already decided it for themselves And that's just life in general.

So if your mother is assuming she's going to freak out, by all means...take her to the observation room.

All of the subs are air conditioned and it actually works quite well. I've driven Mariner when the A/C went out and it was a sauna in there. The two best subs for A/C are Neptune and Argonaut for your refrence.
