  • Disneyland Main St. vehicles?

    Hello all,

Do any of you know any of the specifics about the Main Street vehicles? Are any of them working vintage machines or were they created for the park? I know the fire truck in a scale replica but what type was it modeled after and what scale?

Also, do any of you know where the cannons in Town Square came from? How about the horse drawn fire engine in the barn? Is that vintage or was it made for Disney? If so, when was it built, manufacturer, model number, etc.

    Thank for your help.
    Cheers,

    John

I know the cannons and the fire engine are authentic, but its been so long since I have given a tour, so I can't remember the stories behind them. As for the main street vehicles, I believe they are replica's, refitted with CNG engines.

The horses I believe are authentic horses, as opposed to audio animatronics!

All the motorized vehicles on Main Street are re-creations. Talk to Bob Gurr. He's the guy that built all of them. Same goes for the horese cars, although Newseditor is right--the horses are real! Try here for more info.

The cannons are authentic from the French army. They were never fired in adversity (See, I told you they're French!)

Beat me to it. He referred to these recreations as "authentic bastards". I kid you not.
