  • 50th Photo Collages on Display?

*These were the character images that were throughout the park...

Just wondering if the photo collages that were done for the 50th are still up or are in a gallery to view. Although I didn't get my photos to the powers that be in time, I really enjoyed seeing everyone else's. I'm not sure how many people appreciated them, but I thought it was a fabulous idea that worked. JMTC

Photo Collages are long gone, However, there might still be one
in the Opera House entrance. Not sure as it is closed at the moment
for replacing the carpet. No word on whether that photo collage
    will be staying.

When I went last December, there were still some up. Not many, but a few.

I think Disney could have made these into pages of a wonderful 50th souvenir book. I asked about that, but was told that they didn't think of doing anything like that until after the submissions had started. They can't use or sell the images of the collages in any other way than the displays because they didn't get permission. They really missed out, IMO.

Actually they could. For every submission there was a disclaimer that stated, WDC could use the pictures for marketing and promotional purposes. Promotional purposes could authorize Disney to use the Photo Collages for sale as a promotional item.

              Frogberto,

Could you elaborate on the legal aspects.

My family was in several of the collages, but I could never get a good picture of them - at least close up.

We couldn't see (find) ours either - bummer.

Bummer they're not displayed somewhere. I hope the Disney archivists took good care of them for future generations to enjoy someday.

Yeah, I tried to get pictures too. But they really didn't come out.
It would have been nice to have the pictures in a book so you could show your future generations that you were in Disneyland's "Marketing". They could show a picture of the location, then print the collage next to it.

I would love to get a better copy of the picture simply because the ones I sent in were of the first visit that my nephew had taken to the park. Those pictures are now even more precious of a memory since my nephew (2006) passed away due to complications with his cancer (ALL) just before he turned 2 years old (3 weeks shy).

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.
