What would be the benefits of having the price increase for both A.P and Daily tickets?

Re: Admission Increase-Good or Bad?? Opinions Please
I remember thinking it was too much to pay $43.00 to get in the park but thinking about it now i could have bought two dvds and a CD with that money.
Now $66 is a cheap seat in a Broadway show. compare and realize Disneyland is worth it. but I WILL NEVER PAY $73 to go to Disneyland. nope nevah!

I'd pay that to get into Disneyland, simply because it's my home.Code Lee-Oh-Co (Or Jessica, if you want)

Even if the prices are bumped up to $66, to me its worth every penny because to many of us Disneyland is our home away from that lets give us the experience no where else offers. To me it means Illl just have to save a lil bit extra but thats alright, it makes me appreciate my trips to DLR even more, lets just hope it doesn't get tooooooo much higher soon.

20 years ago I could get in for somewhere around $17.....I think that Walt Disney would not approve of this.........on onr level, it's good because the higher price does keep some level of 'riff raff' out of the park - that sounds really bad, and I don't mean to convey that, but it's true.
But for one day.....$66 is an atrocious fee....when you consider the high crowds, the fact that Tomorrowland is in a shambles and that you aren't able to get the 'whole park' because of it - yet the Disney empire has no problem charging more. Seems wrong, if you ask me.

Re: Admission Increase-Good or Bad?? Opinions Please
I have always thought that there is a certain threshold that the public at large will begin to balk at, and I think Disney is getting near that now. The attendance numbers have been up over the past couple of years, and I think Disney feels emboldened to skip the measely 1$ price increases and go for a larger jump now. But with people trying to keep their homes and the R word on the horizon, Mr. Iger and company may have just shot themselves in the foot. The attendance numbers will tell in the 07-08 season. Most of us on this board will continue to pay no matter what. But the average family will begin to think long and hard about shelling out that kind of money for Disneyland. I know we went for LONG stretches without attending Disneyland back when we couldn't afford it and when my wife was OUTRAGED at the horrendous prices.
Time will tell. The upside: Shorter lines. The downside: Someone will have to pay for this if it turns out to be a huge mistake. To view more of my photos, please visit: William McIntosh PhotographyMac Daddy's Autumn, 2011 Photo Thread

Re: Admission Increase-Good or Bad?? Opinions Please
At this point in my life I don't mind the increase too much, mostly because I get an AP and use it quite a bit - so in the end it pays for itself sort of. Yet, looking at the prices when I do go I can see how a small family can spend quite a large sum of money there in one day. Disneyland is a great place, but people have to remember that it is also a business.

okay I will admit that around 2010 i will pay to get into both parks no matter what the cost. But paying $66 for Disneyland creates the illusion that you are getting what you pay for; you must be if you've saved for years to get your family in. but the truth is Disneyland is a great place but it is still on the fringe. TL is sad but Tom sawyers island is all new! Toontown is crumbling but space mt still rocks! i mean, i will always have the desire to go to Disneyland but rather than actually paying a fortune for admition to a place that i can enjoy without going on the rides is not for me. i would rather make a donation that is directed to the preservation and revitalization of the park.
