I took my one-year old son to Disneyland a few Fridays ago. Just me and him. Our babysitter was closed for the day, so I took a vacation day to take care of him. The night before I decided that it would be fun to go to Disneyland. My wife was a bit dubious that I could handle it all by myself, but we ended up having a great time. The plan was to go for 3-4 hours, take him on a few rides that he loves (the Carousel, Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo), but we ended up staying from 10am-8pm. We had a truly magical day. He went on many rides for the first time that day, including Pirates. I was a little nervous that he may get scared, but he loved it, especially the drops. We also ran into Snow White. He walked right up to her and I got some great shots, including this one:
There were some logistical issues going alone that I didn't think about beforehand. As I was waiting for the tram I all of the sudden worried about how I was going to hold him and load the stroller. A friendly CM gave me a hand. On the way out I decided to take the long path to the Mickey and Friends parking structure. I also had to change his diaper several times, which I wasn't looking forward to because he HATES getting changed in public restrooms. This day that didn't even bother him.
I guess this post doesn't have a point. I just wanted to share my experience.
