  • How crowded is the Halloween event?

How crowded is it usually during the Halloween event at Disneyland & DCA?
Like at the official event after the park closes.

Also are Thursdays as bad as Fridays?
If I go I am going on a Thursday.

Last year it was great. CDA was pretty much empty. I want to say they limit it to 3,000 or 5,000 tickets per event. I am not 100% sure, but it is a small number and it feels like you have the park to yourself!

I think Darkbeer posted it 7 or 8 thousand last year. My guess is Thursday is lighter because ALL the Fridays are sold out already.

Last year the friday night we went it was sold out yet you felt like you owned the park. It was wonderful. Well worth the price. Hopefully they kept the same capacity for this year.
Just countin' the days til the next visit!

YAY! My family and I are going on a Thursday night as well. Looking forward to it! Have any of you grown-ups dressed up for the event, or just your kids?

We're going on a Thursday and my hubby and I are dressing in costume also. My twins are each Alice and I'm the Queen of Hearts. My husband really went out on a limb and chose Jack Sparrow. I was rooting for the Mad Hatter, but not to be.

Tell Hubby to at least match the 3 lovely ladies. There are other options: The King of Hearts, the Walrus or carpenter, Tweedle Dee/Dum. Or he can be one of 349 other Jack Sparrows.

                  ...I am the Walrus?

Or, he could be Richard or Karen...

Oh wow. I've really lead us down a rabbit hole.

I really want to go this year. This year I won't be dressing up disney so I was thinking of wearing my minnie mouse costume to this event, even though I hate to repeat costumes. I just think it's a perfect for disney.

There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

Now I feel better. My husband and I weren't planning on dressing up.

We are really looking forward to the evening though. One more question - what kind of activities are there for a 6 and 8 year old who don't like the scary rides? (Besides getting the candy)

Why don't they let adults dress up in disneyland?

                                Thats weird.

The rides are open too right?

I got to pass out candy at last years event a few times and I must say it was really cool. it didnt seem crowded at all(even to DCAs Standards), it was great to see everyone all dressed up too, even the cast members get in on the dress up...what fun!

I think it's the same reason that they won't let adults dressed as Disney characters have their pictures taken at DCA. TPTB are concerned that other patrons may confuse Disney-costumed folks with actual employees. If someone goes home with a pic of him-/herself and a cut-rate Jack Sparrow (no Mice Chatters included in that group, of course!) and claims that that was the official Jack Sparrow, it's bound to be a disappointment and detracts from Disney's image.

true, that was the reason I saw baggage claim turn away some folks decked out as pirates around the same time of the 3rd pirates film being released, it seems reasonable...at least they can dress up during mickeys event (just no pictures)
