Oh ok.. thanks for clearing it up. I still miss the unfun pirate though.

maybe its because of the derailments, the jokes(which of course I dont mind. I love jokes. we all need them. humor keeps us healthy and sane)

      HOWEVER............................

Re: somethings I noticed on pirates

there's a pirate at the end that has a joint poking out. He was like that at the begining of sept. And I'm not sure if they have fixed it. If you look straight at him when going towards the ramp.

The sword fighting was working when I went.

Sword fight and keyboard instrument were both working a few weeks ago...

I think the pirate in the bed was an organ donor. They call him Captain Kiddney.
Actually, you're thinking of the skull in his headboard. That guy made a great deal with some guy named Sam...

Yes, the pipe organ in the Ballroom was from the film "20K..."
The piano is just before the attic, where a shadow plays a Grim Grinning Ghosts variant of The Wedding March.

That "Piano" wasn't working when I went in August. So it's been broken for quite a while.

It's not a harpsichord, a clavier, a clavacord, a piano, or an organ. It's a freakin' prop with AA keys that compress with no relation to the music being played. And the fact that it sounds harpsichord-y is more of an attestation to the fact that in the mid-60's for some weird reason harpsichords were featured in many popular tunes of the day. "Love is Blue" is one that pops into my mind right now. OK?

Hey Steve, I wondered if you would like to weigh in on this: is the keyed instrument in the 'Captain's Quarters' a piano?

Also, these POTC effects go in and out of service very quickly. It's just like the running joke of the disappearing (and reappearing) crab in the Dead Man's Grotto scene. Both effects probably were down, and by now are probably fixed (I love that new swordfight silhouette scene).

                          To the OP's original question:

                          1. Yes
                          2. Maybe not
                          3. I'm not sure.

I don't know what instrument it is. All I know is that now I can't get "Love is Blue" out of my head!)

We have all come to the conclusion that it is, indeed, a sousaphone, so no further discussion is warranted.

In addition, we have also decided that POTC effects are non-functional on a regular basis, but are usually fixed in a timely manner.

We have also voted that you buy the first three rounds at the MC 3rd Anniversary's after-event bash at the Cove.

                              That is all.

But I want to know the back story about the 3rd Pirate to left in section bravo-niner-alpha who appears to be holding a tuba wilst having a mean face. I think his name is Susan but that could be just a CM urban legend.

That one is supposed to be the old man in the Bayou, (long before his 145th birthday, of course).

As someone who played sousaphone all through high school (that's right, I was one of the cool kids), I can say with moderate certainty that Steve is correct, as always.
