Why do SoCal residents get such a huge break on APs? I mean really, a SoCal AP is less than a 4 day park hopper! Wish I could get one!!!! Or at least give a year in which to update a park hopper into a regular AP pass. I now wish we had upgraded our park hoppers earlier this year so we could go back but at the time we never anticipated being able to return within the year. Being out of area it is always too much of a gamble for us to buy a full price AP and then sooo expensive to buy a second set of 5 day hoppers.

We would love to go back again in December to see the park all decked out for xmas but $600 again for entries just makes it undoable.

    *sigh*

Yeah, you'd have to buy the premium pass to get in during the holidays anyway. The very bottom level pass is weekdays only.
      A signature should go here.

While I qualify for the SoCA AP (Barely! LOL), I live to far away to be able to make the weekdays only stipulation. So, I suck it up and get a premium...that way when I'm down in the area I can at least go and visit for a few hours (or in some cases minutes! LOL)

But, seriously, not all SoCA AP Qualifiers live in the immediate area and can take advantage of it.

            Seriously... not worth the price.
            Good morning, son
            In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
            It was pain
            Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

We had the SoCA Select, and it was terrible.

I never got to use them, since I'm in school. I believe I used them like... five times total? And two of the times I paid for my way in (the thirty price... Of course. ) because it was on a weekend.

So this year I'm getting higher-up passes, even though I CAN take advantage of the passes, it's impossible due to my school.

But we live close enough to do it.
And we still think it's not-so-good.

                  Re: SoCal AP

My sister and her family just bought the So Cal Select Aps. It came out cheaper than them getting 4 day park hoppers. She was all excited, asking when Boy and I could go with them. I quietly informed her that it would probably never happen.

It should work for them because they home school, boy is in public school. They will be blocked out on the days that we can go. I told her where to find the blockout days online. I didn't have the heart to tell her that our Premiums get larger discounts and free parking.

                    Re: SoCal AP

I've had a premium in the past and just purchased the SoCal Select tonight. I have week days available to go to the park so it works for me.

Questions: Is there a group of MC'ers that meet during the week? Any other SoCal Select holders that do weekdays? What has been your experience with this AP?

                    Thanks - GGG

I don't think you could go very often in December with the SoCal AP.

ashee - You're right, a SoCal only give you weekdays up to the 20th in December. I personally don't want to be at the park when "everyone" is there, so again this works for me. I just want to take in the Christmas decor by the cut off date.

Does anyone know if there are any MC meets for the weekdays?

Not normally. Sometimes on Fridays. Post a link in the meets section, maybe a couple of people will meet up with you. Have fun!

When I has weekdays off I had the SO cal AP. It worked out great for us. I sometimes miss those times. I didn't have any issues with pulling my child out of school.

Now I have weekends off so we have PAP. We average going about once a month, but usually on Saturdays. Once in a great while a Sunday.

SoCals are ok - as long as you go like 3 times its more than paid for. Plus, I really rather not go on the days its blacked out anyway... why deal with the hot summer heat and crowds when you can go in Oct and walk onto the rides?

Since we have to buy a pass for our 3yr old as well as us, we have the So Cal AP and 99% of the time it works out for us. We live over an hour away and are so busy with other stuff for our kids that we barely get to go once a month (if that). Although I am going three times this month, its a rarity. I won't go to the park when its overly busy and havent been on a Saturday since 10/1 last year. I don't think I will be going on a Sat again till the Gumball Rally.

                                  A little piece of heaven

I think my SoCal pass works out pretty well for me. Although, the boyfriend is a teacher and I have to convince him to play hooky sometimes, I would like to have an upgrade (but who wouldn't?).

But, I'd say its priced lower just because we're locals (used loosely). We have more chances to go and will ultimately spend more money being there.
                                    Yay, betrothal!
