I think it is great when kids dress up. I like to ask for thier autograph as the character, the kids always get a kick out of that.

Little boys look adorable all dressed up. I've seen little Capt. Hooks, Jack Sparrows, Peter Pans, and Prince Charmings. We saw one darling little prince getting his picture taken with Cinderella last visit. He was getting lots of smoochies from the princess. So cute1

I think it's great when kids dress up as their favorite character. It's mostly girls, but I've seen boys dressed as Woody, Buzz, various Princes, Pirates, etc. I even saw a little boy dressed as Alice once.

I love the idea of the boys dressing up. My little guys don't wear their costumes, but I usually make them Disney-themed boutique outfits to wear, usually something coordinated (they are 3 and 9). They always get a lot of attention with their appliqeud tees and Mickey-print shorts and tell everyone proudly, "my Mom made it!!" LOL

Yeah my sister and I never wore costumes either, but my mom always took us to K-mart before a trip to buy us Disney Character tees. We did this every time we went until we were preteens.

I guess the costumes aren't a bad idea, only it does get hot and people, especially our friends visiting the park from foreign lands, will give you some akward eyes.

I wore my favorite Dreamworks character costume (Shrek) the other day and got hassled outside of Monsters Inc. I'm not sure if it was because of the rivalry between Pixar and Dreamworks, or if it is because I am 24 years old?

There are so many characters boys can dress as.
                              Robin Hood
                              Pooh
                              Eeyore
                              Tigger
                              Hook, Pan, Smee
                              Sully, Mike
                              Princes
                              Jack Sparrow
                              Mickey, Goofy, Donald

and more!! Be creative, just keep in mind how hot the costume will be and the temp at DL. You don't want your child to freeze or get heat stroke!

                              Most of all, have fun!

Dress up is fun for boys and girls of all ages but have you ever seen some of these kids after a few hours in the park? In the heat. Wearing all that stuff? It ain't pretty.

If I was taking a younger kid I'd be sure to pack a more comfortable change of cloths for later in the day.

My son was in love with the Three Musketeers cartoon one year - my neighbor made him this cute costume out of a pillowcase. Everyone kept asking if he was a pirate - he would always correct them.

How about Jack Skellington? (Sorry I'm a big Nightmare Before Christmas fan...really there are several characters from that movie that you could go as) I've seen a few boys dressed as Stitch. That's always a winner. I saw a Nemo costume once and it was simply hilarious... A big fish with legs sticking out the bottom.

I think Linguini from Ratatouille would be really cute... and any of the kids from Meet the Robinsons. Those would also be pretty simple costumes!

The Mad Hatter is a good one too!

I saw a super cute Chicken Little.

How about Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible? Okay enough suggestions from me.

Absolutely have your kids dress up. But only if they like the attention. When my little boy wears his Peter Pan costume he always takes off his hat when someone says "Hi, Peter" to show that he isn't really Peter. We are flying in on Wednesday and doing the Trick or Treat thing at DCA on Thursday, my little girl is being Mary Poppins (Nanny costume) and my little boy is being chimney sweep Bert. I'm thinking about making a ribbon that says "Votes for Women" for me to be Mrs Banks, but I'm not sure many people will get it.

Yes, you do have to take into consideration the costume and the weather. And also, I cringe when I see the little "princesses" shuffling around all day in their plastic costume high-heeled shoes...they must be in terrible pain by the end of the day! Their parents should be pairing their pretty dresses with some cute (but sensible!) shoes!!
