PHOTOMATT Update - DL 10.8.07 - Pumpkins, candy corn and other Halloween-ness

Howdy.

I spent about two hours at the DLR today. Here are a few pictures from today. Please be patient while downloading. Normally I post pictures with a 1024 max width. I am trying a 1280 max width today, just to see what happens. I am noticing a slightly longer download time, but I think it might be worth the wait.




I arrived around 9:45 and made it to the ticket booth area around 10. I wanted to take a few pictures of the crowd but my camera was not working right. The autofocus went haywire. I tried different lenses and the problem occured with each lens. I tried to reset everything I could, but I still had so luck. But, after about 30 minutes of troubleshooting, it started working again. This was the first pic I took with the autofocus working right. Of course, I COULD have not worried about it and just used manual focus - but that's SO 80's. (LOL)





Here are a few shots of the crowds at 10:30. I would say it was "Cah-rowded." See, I CAN say it. (LOL again)










And now I present to you some Disney-fied pumpkins for your viewing pleasure.

Great shots again Matt. Did you ever figure out what was up with the auto-focus. I shoot with a D-70 and that happens to me to every so often, but eventually it starts working again. Just hoping that someone has figured out what was up.

It was a psuedo holiday, and probably a lot of layover from the weekend crowd for Gay Days. I am sure that there were more than a few people that took advantage of having a three day weekend and stayed an extra day.

This pic was taken about 11:30.





I took a few rushed shots of the castle, just for the heck of it. You can see the horse enter the frame at the bottom right. I am posting this pic because I like the color saturation. The castle's purdy.








































They need to place more of these at the exits.
























I need to straighten this. I will get to it eventually.

Great photos. I love seeing all those closeups. I was there from 11:15 until 8 PM and I knew it would be crowded when I got to the parking structure and had to wait in a slow, long line to even park. More crowded on Columbus Day than Memorial Day, that was for sure.
