  • Disney Vault 28 turns 1

A year ago this single location opened, with virtually no advertising support & a seriously-lacking website, and has contributed over $2 million in sales.

If you've visited the store and/or purchased anything there, let's hear from you. And if you haven't and/or despise on principal let's get those closure predictions updated.

    Thanks for the update!

Yep, we've spent some of our hard earned money there.

    Nice stuff!

Yikes! $2M at one location!? At last it's good knowing that $0 of it was from my wallet.

I got a Skeleton Dance sweatshirt. I love it, even though it was like $90. Seriously though, where else are you going to get a Silly Symphony sweatshirt???

Where's that thread where a ton of people predicted its closure last year???

Well, if it has merchandise with characters that are not commonly found in every DL/WoD shop -- DL's have Princesses, Tinkerbelle, Peter Pan, Grumpy, Pooh and pals, pirates, Skellington -- then of course it will do well. There is a market being highly ignored in DL, as the shops people have to sell what is demanded the most.
$90 for a sweatshirt prices me out, though.

I can't believe it lasted this long and actually contributed that much in sales. All I can say is, they've got great sales reps.

Re: Disney Vault 28 turns 1

I picked up an Arribas Bros Beer Glass with "Vault 28"
engraved on it ~ thinking this store would go the way
of Club Disney, The Disney Club, etc. I also purchase
a Vault 28 men's shirt, but it's one of those super tight,
super small, super thin material with crappy quality ~
                    so I returned it.

Most of the merchandise is ridiculously high priced ~
even when comparing "Disney" prices to the real world

I figure for about $2 million in sales, all they need to
sell is about a hundred of those latex plastic doggy
toys without the squeeker, of either the Cheshire
                    Cat or Runaway Brain Mickey.

The service in the store, that I experienced, shortly
after opening, was terrific. Unfortunately the
                    merchandise, well, that was craptastic.
Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Ya can't cover pooh with honey and 'spect people ta like it.

I'm not sure whether $2 million is a lot or not, relative to what else could be there.
Sure seems like a lot, though, at first glance.
Or, it's $5,500 of sales per day, on average. Or 61 sweatshirts. Those don't seem like a lot, but I know nothing about retail.

Only thing I bought in there was a 10.50 pair of Tinkerbell earrings. There is less Disney stuff in there than the first time I went there. I wish there was more Disney stuff and less stuff you could find at other stores.

The things are dreadfully overpriced, but I love the store. I have bought a few things from there.

                            Like ^ said, $75 for a shirt is over-priced.

I've been in to this store before, don't think I will ever go back.

I gave it 6 months. It's filled with expensive crap. It's not even good quality. I see better quality at target..more money than brains comes to mind.
