Re: (Once again)Why does everyone not like DCA???
I haven't read through this thread, nor have I read the litter-box version, but I'll offer my reasons.
I don't hate DCA, but I'm disappointed with it because they violated principles that make Disney a great company and Disneyland a unique park.

- Instead of being the creative, proactive leaders they should be, they reacted to other local entertainment offerings like Knott's and Universal and tried to muscle in on their territory
- Instead of designing unique rides, they took off-the-shelf rides and put a thin Disney veneer on them.
- They failed to find strong themes for the new park or create immersive environments.
- The Paradise Pier section is the veritable antithesis of Disneyland. It is the very thing that Walt Disney was reacting against when he built Disneyland, with the only exception being that it's cleaner than the carnies Disney had in mind. Otherwise, it is unimaginative and divides families.
- it was built on the cheap, assuming that we'd flock to anything with the Disney name on it.
