While I don't believe the Skyway was ever sponsored, it did have a conspicuous sign/plaque with the manufacturer's name on it inside the Fantasyland Station/Chalet for a number of years. It was "Vonroll."

Could have been that Walt agreed to a sweet deal on the system in exchange for placement of the manufacturer's name inside...but I really have no idea for sure. I don't think even that would qualify as being any sort of sponsor, however. More of a purchase contract accommodation if anything.

Clearly the airlines weren't going to sponsor it, for they feared the competition in the skies!

I just read that Del Monte sponsered America Sings, can anyone verify that though?

I can verify that from personal memory. But they didn't sponsor it for its entire life. Just a few years.

With the Skyway, the cable way and all that was manufactured by Vonroll, but both generations of buckets were done by Disney (I know Bob Gurr designed the 2nd generation buckets, but I don't remember who designed the originals).

I can't believe no one mentioned this. Skyway was supposed to be sponsored but the "Second Chance Parachute Company" just pull and pray for a second chance.

KFC would have been a good sponsor. You know... buckets.....

I have been on a couple of Von Roll skyways and they have all had a plaque saying "Von Roll". I think it is sort of their version of a hood ornament.
