The OP might want to send a PM to "oldhotelguy"...I haven't seen him around here much lately, but he is certainly one of the reigning experts here on the history of the Disneyland Hotel.

Not just you, me too. Although it might have to do with the fact that it's almost 2am and I can't sleep because I just saw the DCA concept art. I can't wait until 2012!!!

I also recall that you could legally get these when you bought a suit and/or some other clothing items at the old "Sir Edwards" shop at the Disneyland Hotel.

Here's a shot of one of mine, one of the darker ones that I mentioned in Post #18 above. I'm guessing early 1980's on this particular one as it has a newer font version of the "Disneyland Hotel" logo. But it does have the "DH" in the center that I mentioned in that post.

I have some older 60's and 70's font ones as well, light and dark wood.

Very cool! I guess I didn't look hard enough in our closet the two times we stayed at the DLH in 2004.

I've got about a dozen of these from the 60's and 70's. Some are identical to yours and others have a darker stain to them. Some also have a large "DH" logo in the center beneath the hanger pole, in addition to the printing on yours.

They of course used to be in all the hotel rooms. But I know exactly how I got mine. I used to have my dry cleaning done by the hotel "to go." And they were always on these wood hangers, which you were fully expected to take with you. I mostly returned the old hangers when I dropped off more clothes to be cleaned. But I guess some just stayed at home. I remember keeping some to hang items like long overcoats that were too heavy for wire hangers.

Last time I was in the Marina Suite at the Disneyland Hotel (a few of years ago)...they still had these in the closets.

Honestly I have no idea how I got it. The hook part is of normal size and not the tiny hook that hotels use nowadays to avoid loss/taken hangers.

    Much better!

How interesting! Most hotels have hangers that are "wrapped" around the pole in the closet so there is no way to remove them. (Not that you would want to since they are just generic hangers anyway). I'm guessing you must of had something like a coat or something on this one and didn't realize it got brought home.

Pretty cool souvenir though! I'm sure if you wanted you could put it on eBay and someone would buy it.
