After viewing all the reports, press releases, news articles, and concept art, I honestly feel that this press release has signified a major change at Disney. Disney executives have finally admitted that DCA has failed and that a great change is on the way. The guilt is gone and it is time to move on. Never would we have heard this 10 years ago. The optimism in the press release is truly wonderful to hear once again. Disney has finally admitted their mistake and I just love how they are paying homage to Walt Disney is the new plans and more importantly, the press release. Like I said, the Disney executives have finally publicly admitted the failure and that it is time to move on in a new direction. My hat is off to Disney. Eisner and Pressler have officially left the building.

Re: DCA Press Release signifies a new era at Disney
I'm not sure if there has been a change or not...but if you are going to spend over a billion dollars on something, you need to say SOMETHING. If the figure came out and there wasn't an official comment, the shareholders would say, "Lucy, you have some splaining to do."
I think the official statement is an effort to do some splaining so that it sounds like a decision made for the best possible reasons.

Re: DCA Press Release signifies a new era at Disney
How many New Eras do we, as fans, label for the Walt Disney Company?
The Lasseter Era.
The Iger Era.
The Rasulo Era.
The Lucas Era.
Forget the Year of a Million Dreams. How 'bout the Year of a Million Eras? Or, the Era of a Million Eras?
