Hurray! I am very excited. It looks like we will get a restaurant similar to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre. I just read this on Disneylandnews.com

TheCars Land Drive-In Restaurant offers a
unique signature dining experience. Guests
dine in automobiles, served by roller-skating
wait-staff while enjoying automobile-themed
short films during their meal.

blah! I can't really back up that feeling, and I did enjoy dining at the Sci Fi drive in at WDW.....but still......bleh!

I broke my leg roller skating ... and my arm. Needless to say being around roller skates isn't my thing.

Sonic's Fast Food, they have roller skating girls/guys sereve you your food in your like in the old days, theres none in Southern Califonia though.

Put it in, for the love, trying to make the lands have consistent themes can only take us in the right direction. Don't like it, then don't eat it, that's fair enough, but I appreciate they're trying to make this thing have sense of immersion.

Being a lover of Sonic tater tots I can say that there are Sonic's in Southern California. There is one only a few miles away from Disneyland on Harbor near the 91 freeway too! I believe its in Fullerton.

They don't serve you on skates though - you either drive up or sit at tables - the burgers are mediocre (heat lamp stylee) but their shakes and tots and such are sooo good.

I personally am excited for this restaurant. I don't know if it will be themed to Cars the movie or not, my personal guess is not. It'd be overkill if it were. The theme will fit perfectly, it's a drive-in in an area called Cars Land, at least thematically it works as well as adds to the overall history of California. It also will add a nice sit down meal option.

DCA is finally getting a make-over, finally getting a new place to dine at, it's themed to the Cars area so it actually fits, yet people still piss and moan.

I, for one, think it will be an awesome addition!

Sounds like an alternative to a day at DCA. Lunch at Sonic followed by shopping at the Disney Outlet warehouse.

I know at one point Florida's Sci-Fi Drive-In had done away with the roller skating waiters as they felt it was too dangerous. Did they bring that back there?
